Angelica or archangelic (Angelica archangelica L.) is an aromatic essence that comes from the Apiaceae family. It grows mainly in central and northern Europe, especially in damp and shady places. This large umbellifer has been recognized and used for various medicinal purposes for centuries. Its sweet and captivating fragrance has made it a plant with magical powers, hence its names of “angel herb” or “root of the Holy Spirit”.
The true angelica is a biennial plant that can measure from 80 cm to 2 m in height. Its root is strong, it supports a thick stem very branchy and hollow inside. Its leaves are very large and toothed. The flowers are greenish-yellow in color and are arranged in broad spherical shapes. The fruit is light yellow or light brown, oval and flattened.

What are the side effects and contraindications ?
Avoid exposure to the sun (UV) because there is a risk of photosensitivity due to coumarins. Avoid if taking anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs. Store in a clean, dry place. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.
