How can you prevent diaper rash?

Your baby needs to be changed up to 7 or 8 times a day. Their little bottom is very delicate and can easily become irritated due to moisture, contact with urine and stool, and friction from diapers. It therefore requires special care with every diaper change. Check out our tips for properly cleaning your baby’s bottom!

• To prevent a red bottom, changing your baby frequently isn’t enough. Apply a diaper cream designed to protect the bottom from moisture and friction from diapers, especially if your baby’s bottom is already red.
• As a preventive measure or as soon as redness appears, it’s best to use a diaper rash cream. If it’s a “water-based cream,” apply a generous layer to create a barrier against the acidity of stool or urine. If using a preventative cream, apply a small amount and massage it in very gently.
• Certain times are riskier than others for your baby’s bottom—this is especially true during teething or when your child’s stool is a bit loose. During these times, use as much cream as you need. For your baby’s comfort.
