What is Abbé Perdrigeon Aloe du Cap 60 ml used for?

Cotre-Coups de l'Abbé Perdrigeon Aloe du Cap is a plant-based local antiseptic for superficial, small wounds.

It is an adjunctive treatment for bruises and contusions (bruises, blows, etc.).

Cotre-Coups de l'Abbé Perdrigeon Aloe du Cap 60 ml is a natural remedy recommended for the whole family in the event of blows or shocks, as well as for antisepsis of superficial, small wounds.

  • Bruises, also known as "ecchymosis", are most often the result of contusion, mild shock or a fall. It is formed by blood escaping from the blood vessels and remaining in the thickness of the skin. It can be blue, black or purplish in color, and does not disappear when light pressure is applied. The size of the bruise depends on the violence of the impact and the vascularity of the affected area. Normally, a slight bruise disappears within one to two weeks.
  • Commonly known as a "bump", a hematoma can appear following a blow (with a ball, for example), a falling object or repeated shocks. It is characterized by an effusion of blood under the skin that is larger and more prominent than a bruise. Normally, a cutaneous hematoma subsides within a few weeks. When it's located on the scalp, it can form a large bump, commonly referred to as a "pigeon's egg".

Our advice and expert opinions

Depending on the area of the body affected, symptoms may be more severe:

an ecchymosis or "bruise" around the eye - commonly called a "black eye"- causes a black or purple circle around the eye. The eyelid may be swollen. The discoloration then changes to green and yellow, and may extend down to the cheek;
a shock to the ear may cause a hematoma of the pinna, resulting in purple swelling that deforms the ear but does not restrict hearing (known as "cauliflower ear");
after a shock to the tip of a finger (hammer blow, pinching a finger in a door, etc.), a hematoma may form under the nail. If it spreads, it can be particularly painful and throbbing;

In the most serious cases, a doctor should be consulted:

  • the blow reaches the eye area or the testicles,
  • the hematoma is large,
  • it becomes red, hot and painful,
  • it causes pain and numbness in the feet and hands.

How to treat a bruise
Apply ice wrapped in a towel (to avoid skin damage) to the injured area for 10 to 15 minutes to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.
