Our advice and expert advice in pharmacy
Otitis is very common in dogs, especially those with falling ears, because the ear canal is poorly ventilated. This is even more true if the hair is long because the ear wax eliminates badly, thus maintaining a favorable environment for maceration. So remember to regularly epilate the entrance of the ear canals, by hand or by the forceps: it is not painful for the dog and very effective in reducing the risk of otitis. Leave some hair, however, to prevent spikelets from entering the ear.
Because of its particular configuration, the dog's ear requires regular maintenance. We advise you :
- Ears falling : once a week in summer and every 15 days in winter.
- Ears straight : Every 2 weeks in summer and 1 time per month in winter.
Use a dog ear solution: insert the tip into the duct, instill the prescribed dose, massage the base of the ear for 30 seconds then wipe the entry with a cotton pad.
