What is overwork, and how does it differ from burnout?
Overwork refers to a state of physical and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged excessive demands—work, responsibilities, emotional or physical pressure—that exceed the body’s ability to recover. Unlike burnout (a specific form of occupational exhaustion, as defined by Maslach’s triad), overwork can affect all areas of life and often precedes complete exhaustion.
