Precautions for Use

• Take 3 self-measurements of your blood pressure, spaced at least 1 to 2 minutes apart.
• Ideally, do this before taking any medication and before breakfast.
• Also take 3 self-measurements in the evening, at bedtime.
• Take your blood pressure for at least 3 or 4 consecutive days to gather as much data as possible.
• Sit quietly in your chair for 5 minutes before taking your blood pressure.
• Consult your doctor once you have enough data to share with them so they can calculate an average.

How to Take Your Blood Pressure Correctly with the Omron RS6 Blood Pressure Monitor

• Step 1: It’s important to follow certain guidelines: Rest for 5 minutes while seated (the position you’ll maintain throughout the measurement) before taking your first reading. Be in a quiet environment (no TV or radio). Do not smoke during rest periods or while taking measurements.
• Step 2: Position: Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Place the Omron RS6 blood pressure cuff on your left wrist and position your wrist at heart level. Support your left arm with your right arm. Be careful not to place your right hand on the cuff.
• Step 3: Once you’ve assumed the proper position, rested, and positioned the device, you can begin taking your blood pressure reading. Stay calm and relaxed while the Omron RS6 blood pressure monitor cuff inflates and deflates. Wait 1 to 2 minutes between each reading.
• Step 4: Reading the results is very simple: the first number corresponds to systolic pressure and the heart’s contraction, while the second corresponds to diastolic pressure and the heart’s relaxation. So, for a first number of 120 mmHg and a second of 80 mmHg, the blood pressure reading is 12/8.

Note: It is strongly recommended that you take several readings and calculate an average (3 readings in the morning before breakfast, then 3 readings in the evening before bedtime, repeated over 3 days).
