Description of Econazole LP 150mg Viatris - Mylan BOX 1 ovule

Local treatment of vulvovaginal yeast infection, whether or not infected with Gram + bacteria.

In most cases (77.5%), yeast infection affects both the vagina and the vulva, hence the term vulvovaginal yeast infection. The infection is then manifested by itching, irritation, redness and swelling of the mucous membrane, burning sensations with urination and white, non-odorous, very characteristic discharge.

Using advice and opinion on Econazole LP 150mg Viatris - Mylan BOX 1 ovule

Usual dose: In the majority of cases: 1 ovum in the evening at bedtime in a single administration to be introduced deep into the vagina, preferably in the lying position. In the case of recurrent or rebellious mycosis supposing favorable factors, an ovum at bedtime and an ovum the following morning

Practical advice :

  • Toilet with neutral or alkaline pH soap.

This medicine contains econazole nitrate: an antifungal and antibacterial.

Therapeutic indications

It is indicated in the local treatment of mycoses (affections due to microscopic fungi) of the vulva and the vagina sometimes overinfected.

Dosage

In the majority of cases, 1 ovule preferably in the evening at bedtime, in single administration.

In some cases, your doctor may prescribe an egg in the evening and an egg the next morning.

INDICATIONS (summary)
This gynecological ovule contains an antifungal agent of the imidazole family.
It is used in the local treatment of fungal infections of the vagina and the vulva, especially candidiasis .
CONTRAINDICATIONS (summary)
This medication should not be used if you are allergic to imidazole .
WARNING (Contents)
Do not use a latex diaphragm as a contraceptive during treatment: risk of rupture of the diaphragm by altering the latex.

DRUG INTERACTIONS (summary)

Usual dosage:

A single dose of 1 egg; in some cases, this treatment may be renewed the following morning. This ovule has a specific composition which allows it to remain active several days after its introduction (prolonged release of the active principle).
TIPS (summary)
Introduce the egg into the lying position and then lie down for 5 to 10 minutes. By melting in the vagina, the ovum can be at the origin of a disturbing flow: it is advisable to wear a protection.
During menstruation, do not stop treatment and avoid wearing tampons.
In case of recurrent gynecological fungi ( candidiasis ), it is useful to respect the usual advice to prevent the abnormal development of candida albicans and other microscopic fungi:
