What is ZYMADUO 150 IU oral solution used for?

ZYMADUO 150 IU is a pediatric oral solution specifically formulated for infants aged 6 to 18 months. This unique combination of vitamin D3 and sodium fluoride provides dual protection that is essential during growth: it strengthens bone density while preventing tooth decay. For babies fed with vitamin D-fortified milk, or those with lighter skin tones, ZYMADUO 150 IU provides an ideal balance to meet their nutritional needs without excess. This product was designed to fit seamlessly into the daily lives of new parents. Thanks to its easy-to-administer droplet form, it ensures optimal absorption without disrupting your child’s feeding routine. Its effectiveness is based on two key active ingredients: cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), recognized for its role in bone mineralization and the prevention of rickets, and fluoride, which works early to combat the bacteria that cause tooth decay. It is therefore an ideal ally for healthy growth and strong teeth.

Vitamin D3, present here at a concentration of 150 IU per drop, plays a crucial role in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, elements essential for strong bones. In young children, it contributes to skeletal development and supports the proper development of the immune system. As for fluoride, it acts directly on tooth enamel as soon as it forms, making it more resistant to acid attacks. This provides early protection against cavities, especially in children with a family history of tooth decay. ZYMADUO 150 IU is particularly recommended in cases of high caries risk: a family history of cavities, difficulty establishing good oral hygiene, frequent sugar consumption… These are all situations in which appropriate supplementation becomes a relevant preventive measure. Thanks to its carefully controlled concentration, this product eliminates any risk of overdose, particularly when enriched infant formula is already being used. Another significant advantage is its oral drop form, which you can administer directly or mix with a little water or fruit juice. This makes it easy to administer—without resistance or refusal—and ensures the treatment can be continued over the long term. And with its orange-caramel flavor, the taste is generally well-received by little ones.

Finally, ZYMADUO 150 IU is part of a comprehensive approach to prevention. It complements the hygiene and nutritional measures necessary for your child’s good health. Because the early years of life lay the foundation for future health, it’s crucial not to leave anything to chance. Targeted supplementation, a balanced diet, and daily oral hygiene: these are the pillars of healthy growth. To supplement vitamin D intake or if you’re looking for an alternative, you can also choose Pediakid Vitamin D3 200 IU 20 ml, a gentle and effective solution to support your baby’s immune and skeletal systems year-round.

How to use this product?

Directions for use:

The recommended dosage of ZYMADUO 150 IU is 4 drops per day, to be taken orally. You can administer the drops undiluted directly into the child’s mouth or mix them with a small amount of water or fruit juice (however, avoid dairy beverages, which may interfere with absorption). The dose should be taken once a day, preferably at a quiet time, such as after a meal. The bottle is equipped with a dropper and a safety cap: close it securely after each use to ensure proper storage and prevent any accidents. This simple step is also part of essential daily safety practices.

Share your feedback on the usage instructions and dosage of ZYMADUO 150 IU with our partner “Verified Reviews” after your purchase.

Precautions for use:

Before use, make sure your child is not receiving any other sources of fluoride or vitamin D (fluoridated salts, fluoridated water, other supplements, etc.). Even a moderate excess can cause side effects, including dental fluorosis or hypercalcemia. ZYMADUO 150 IU is contraindicated in cases of a historyof allergy to the product’s ingredients, excess calcium in the blood or urine, or kidney stones. It is also not recommended to combine this treatment with another fluoride-containing medication to avoid any risk of overdose. Also monitor the quality of the water used for baby bottles: some mineral waters may contain high levels of fluoride. Opt for those with a fluoride concentration below 0.3 mg/L if you are using this medication. Finally, this product contains some potentially risky excipients, such asbenzyl alcohol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, or maltitol syrup: always consult your doctor if your child has any food intolerances or metabolic disorders.

This medication should not be used in the following cases:
  • excess calcium in the blood and urine,
  • calculations channels urinary containing calcium.
WARNING (Contents)

TIPS (summary)
The deficiencies in vitamin D are especially common in young children or little dark skin exposed to the sun; in fact, vitamin D is made by the skin under the influence of ultraviolet rays. Prevention of rickets by vitamin D is routine in infants and young children.

GLOSSARY (summary)

deficiency
Deficit usually involving nutrients, vitamins, minerals, etc. A diversified diet is the best prevention of deficiencies.

fluorine
A mineral substance which has the property of being fixed on the bones and on the teeth, and which increases their hardness.

infant
Child from one to 30 months. A child under one month is a newborn.

rickets
Disease of growth due to deficiency of vitamin D. It results in a deformation of the bones and cartilages, and disorders of the general state. Vitamin D is manufactured in the skin provided that it is sufficiently exposed to the sun; it promotes the absorption and fixation of calcium and phosphorus, the main constituents of bone.

overdose
Taking an excessive amount of a drug exposes you to an increase in the intensity of adverse effects, or even to the appearance of particular adverse effects.
This overdose may result from accidental or voluntary poisoning for suicide, so consult your local Poison Control Center (listed in the appendix to the book). However, in most cases, overdose is the result of an error in the understanding of the prescription, or the search for an increase in efficacy by exceeding the recommended dosage. Finally, untimely self-medication may lead to excessive absorption of the same substance contained in different drugs. Some drugs are particularly prone to this risk because they are (wrongly) considered to be harmless: vitamins A and D, aspirin, etc. Stopping or decreasing drug intake helps to remove the disorders associated with an overdose.

preventive treatment
Treatment intended to prevent a disease (synonym: prophylaxis), or to limit the frequency of seizures or outbreaks in a chronic disease.

ultraviolet
Ultraviolet rays are radiation emitted naturally by the sun or artificially by certain lamps. UV A and UVB are distinguishable. Short-wave UV B are stopped in the outermost layers of the skin. They are responsible for burns (sunburn). The UVA, of wider wavelength, penetrate deeply and reach the dermis. They induce pigmentation (tanning). Repeated intense UV exposure causes premature aging of the skin and increases the risk of skin cancer.
Abbreviation: UV.

vitamin
An essential ingredient for the growth and proper functioning of the body. Vitamin requirements are normally covered by a varied diet. In developed countries, only vitamin D deficiency, in the young child or the old man who is exposed to the sun, justifies systematic supplementation. Superior intake, especially with medicines, can lead to overdose and various disorders (mainly vitamins A and D).

way
  • Pathway (route of administration) used to administer drugs: oral, sublingual, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, intradermal, transdermal.
  • Set of hollow organs allowing the passage of air (respiratory tract), food (digestive tract), urine (urinary tract), bile (bile ducts), etc.
