ELMEX PROTECTION CARIES Toothpaste in a batch of 2 Tubes is a toothpaste containing olafluor amine fluoride which rapidly binds to the enamel, stimulates its remineralization and makes it more resistant to acid attack of plaque bacteria . Promotes caries prevention.
Elmex Anti-Caries Adult Toothpaste contains amine fluorides that get incorporated into the enamel in seconds, harden it and increase its resistance to acids. They also form a protective layer that is homogeneous and adherent to the surface of your teeth. It therefore offers long-term protection and remineralizes the initial caries forming under the tooth surface .
Promotes the prevention of cavities, from 6 years old.
Dental caries is an infectious disease. The enamel of the tooth is the first touched. A cavity is formed in the tooth and then the decay propagates in depth. If the decay is not treated, the hole gets bigger and the caries can reach the dentine (layer under the enamel). Pain begins to be felt, especially with hot, cold or sweet. Cavities can reach the pulp of the tooth . This is called toothache . Finally, a tooth abscess can appear when the bacteria attack the ligament, bone or gum.
Elmex Protection toothpaste caries helps to act at all levels of the carious process: - spreads quickly on the dental surfaces and even in the interdental spaces thanks to its surfactant properties
In careful brushing after each meal.
The appearance of dental plaque and its consequences
Plaque is a coating of salivary proteins, food waste (sugar and acids) and bacteria. This sticky white coating is deposited on the surface of the teeth and gums.
Bacteria multiply and cause the densification of dental plaque which, calcifying, is the scale . Some bacteria, such as streptococcus mutans, make acids from sugar. By attacking the teeth, the acids cause the appearance of caries.
Plaque can easily be removed by brushing the teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste (age-appropriate fluoride content). For children undergoing orthodontic treatment, brushing the teeth should be particularly neat, because of the increased risk of cavities.
Nibbling and the consumption of sugars
Bacteria feed on sugars to multiply. Sugar is therefore the number one enemy of teeth, especially sucrose (powdered sugar or pieces of sugar) and industrial sugar found in cakes, sodas, confectionery.
To avoid caries , do not consume too much sugar and do not eat without meals. If you nibble, saliva does not have time to do its cleaning work.
Fragility of the teeth in question
Some of us have more fragile and decayed teeth: Enamel may be thin, poorly mineralized, and less resistant to plaque acids.
The teeth may have an accentuated relief or be poorly positioned. As they retain food debris more easily, they are more exposed to acid attack by bacteria and consequently caries.
Olafluor amine fluoride: 1.641% (fluorine ion: 1250 ppm). Excipients: aqua, hydrated silica, sorbitol, hydroxyethylcellulose, aroma (mint), limonene, titanium dioxide, saccharin.
