When should Excilor Cryo Verruxit be used to treat warts?

Excilor Verruxit cryotherapy for warts on the hands and feet is a medical device intended for the treatment of plantar and common warts located on the hands and feet. It uses the principle of cryotherapy: the application of intense cold freezes the wart, gradually promoting its removal.

Warts are small, benign skin growths caused by certain human papillomaviruses. Although they may disappear on their own—sometimes after several months or years—they remain contagious and can become bothersome, especially when located on the sole of the foot. This treatment acts directly on the lesion through targeted application of cold.

Verruxit is suitable for adults as well as children ages 4 and up. It is intended exclusively for common warts and plantar warts on the hands and feet. A single application is generally sufficient; if the wart persists, treatment may be repeated after a two-week interval, without exceeding four applications on the same wart.

The system consists of an aerosol can, an activator cap, and single-use foam applicators. This design allows for precise application directly to the center of the wart while minimizing contact with the surrounding skin. The can provides enough product for up to 12 cryotherapy treatments.

Cryotherapy is therefore a practical solution for treating certain common warts at home on your own. If you are unsure about the nature of a growth, an unusual wart, or a lesion that persists despite treatment, we recommend consulting a doctor or your pharmacist. To complement your treatment, you can also explore the Homeopathic Wart Treatment Kit and ask your pharmacist for advice on how to use it.

How do you use this cryotherapy wart treatment?

Before use, carefully read the instructions provided with the device.

  1. Insert a cylindrical foam tip into the designated slot on the top of the bottle. About half of the tip should remain visible to facilitate application.
  2. Hold the bottle upright and attach the activation cap.
  3. Set the safety switch to “ON” by aligning the arrow on the base of the bottle with the vertical “ON” line on the cap.
  4. Turn the device completely upside down and place it on a table, cap side down.
  5. Hold the bottle steady, then press firmly downward for 1 second. A slight hissing sound indicates that the foam tip is saturating with the cold liquid.
  6. Keep the cap on the table, then gently remove the bottle without turning the cap over.
  7. Gently apply the foam tip to the center of the wart, applying light, continuous pressure. Maintain contact for the entire duration of application indicated in the table in the package insert.
  8. After use, check that no liquid remains in the cap. Then return the device to the “OFF” position before closing the bottle.
  9. Wait 3 minutes before removing the foam tip with a tissue. Do not touch the tip directly with your fingers, and discard the applicator after use.

A single application is usually sufficient. For a particularly stubborn wart, a second application may be performed after 2 weeks. Never treat the same wart more than 4 times in total.

For clusters of warts, treat only one wart at a time and wait two weeks before treating the next ones.

Our expert advice on Excilor Cryo for warts

Before treating a wart, we recommend verifying that it is indeed a common or plantar wart. Any lesion that changes in appearance, bleeds spontaneously, exhibits unusual pigmentation, or whose nature seems uncertain to you should be examined by a healthcare professional before undergoing cryotherapy. Strictly follow the contact time indicated in the package insert: applying the cold for longer does not make the treatment more effective and may increase the risk of irritation or damage to healthy skin. After treatment, the area may gradually change before the wart disappears; avoid scratching or picking at the tissue. If the wart persists after four applications or becomes painful, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
