A “Pregnant” result can appear in just one minute when the test is taken on the first day of a missed period. You must wait 3 minutes to confirm a “Not Pregnant” result. It is over 99% accurate starting on your expected period date and can be used up to 5 days before your period is late (or 4 days before your expected period date).

In laboratory tests,pregnancy detection rates were as follows: 98% one day before the expected period, 97% two days before, 88% three days before, and 56% four days before the expected period. How do you use the Clearblue Rapid Pregnancy Test?

1. Remove the cap to reveal the absorbent strip
2. Hold the absorbent strip under the stream of urine for at least 5 seconds.
3. Place the test stick on a flat surface, with the window facing up, and wait 1 minute.

Reading the pregnancy test result:

POSITIVE if a cross appears.
NEGATIVE if only one horizontal line appears.
Indicators of proper functioning—The control line and the indicator window show you whether the test is proceeding normally.

Warning

Always read the manufacturer’s instructions for any medications you are currently taking before taking the test. Medications containing hCG and certain rare medical conditions may cause false-positive results. An ectopic pregnancy or a recent pregnancy (even if it was not carried to term) may result in inaccurate results. If you are going through menopause or premenopause, you may get a false “Pregnant” result, even if you are not pregnant. The test should not be affected by hormone treatments containing clomiphene citrate, common pain relievers, alcohol, antibiotics, or birth control pills. If you get any unexpected results, discuss them with your doctor.
