When should you take Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine powder?

Lescuyer’s Collagen-Creatine is a powdered dietary supplement to be mixed with water, with a peach tea flavor. A 10-gram serving contains 2.6 grams of creatine monohydrate (equivalent to 2.3 grams of creatine) and 1 gram of hydrolyzed type II marine collagen peptides (Cartidyss®) sourced from Brittany and Normandy. The formula also includes six vitamins, magnesium, and zinc.

Creatine is a compound produced by the body and obtained from food, primarily meat and fish; approximately 95% of the body’s creatine is found in the muscles. Collagen is the main protein in connective tissues: cartilage, bones, skin, and tendons. To produce this collagen, the body needs vitamin C, which is provided here at 100% of the Reference Intake: vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation to ensure the normal function of cartilage, bones, and skin.

Vitamin D is formulated at 10 µg per day, which is 200% of the reference values. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function and normal bones. Magnesium also contributes to normal muscle function. Zinc rounds out the formula: zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and normal bones.

Vitamins B1, B2, B3, and B6—each at 50% of the reference values— contribute to normal energy metabolism. Collagen-Creatine is designed for adults who want to combine collagen, creatine, and these nutrients in a single step, particularly those aged 40 and older or those who engage in regular physical activity. It is a dietary supplement for athletes, available in a powder form that is easy to incorporate into your morning routine.

We recommend combining it with Be-Life Co-Q10 Ubiquinone 50 mg. These capsules provide coenzyme Q10, a molecule naturally present in cells but not included in the Collagen-Creatine formula: the two products complement each other without sharing any common nutrients.

How do you prepare this powder for mixing?

Directions for Use

Precautions

  • For adults only. Not recommended for children or adolescents.
  • Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • Contains fish (marine collagen): do not consume if you have a fish allergy.
  • Kidney failure or kidney disease: Do not use without medical advice due to the creatine content. Creatine may increase blood creatinine levels: inform your doctor that you are taking this product before having a blood test.
  • Drink at least 1.5 liters of water per day while taking creatine.
  • Creatine may cause slight weight gain due to water retention in the muscles during the first few weeks, as well as digestive issues (nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain).
  • If you are taking anti-inflammatory drugs, diuretics, or antidiabetic medications, or if you have diabetes or uncontrolled high blood pressure, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
  • Do not combine with any other supplement containing vitamin D or zinc without consulting a healthcare professional, especially if vitamin D is prescribed in ampoules. Take this product separately from antibiotics in the cycline or fluoroquinolone families, as well as iron or calcium salts.
  • Athletes subject to anti-doping testing: check with your sports federation before use.
  • Contains a sweetener (sucralose).
  • Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle.
  • Store the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of young children.

Our Expert Advice on Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine

Kidney health is an issue to address before opening the first jar: creatine is excreted through the kidneys, and a known kidney condition or treatment that puts strain on the kidneys may require a different approach. For everyone else, the practical consideration is water. One glass of water to mix the powder isn’t enough to cover your daily needs, and this is often what people who combine this product with physical activity fail to account for.

This product is not a sports performance supplement. Choose it for its comprehensive formula of vitamins and minerals combined with collagen and creatine; if your goal is strength or very intense exercise, creatine alone is better suited to this purpose, and we can help you choose the right one.

FAQ

How much creatine does Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine provide me each day?

A 10-gram serving provides 2.6 grams of creatine monohydrate, or 2.3 grams of creatine. The recognized effects of creatine on physical performance during very intense exercise are linked to a daily intake of 3 g: Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine is therefore not formulated for this purpose.

Do I need to do a loading phase with Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine?

No. Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine is taken once daily, without a loading phase. The consumer association Test-Achats notes that a loading phase—involving 20 to 25 g of creatine per day for one week—is not necessary.

When should I take my Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine?

Lescuyer does not specify a specific time to take it. For creatine, consistency is more important than the time of day: take one dose every day—including non-workout days—at a time that best fits your routine, such as with a meal.

Is Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine suitable for my vegetarian or vegan diet?

No. The collagen in the formula is of marine origin: it comes from fish. Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine is therefore not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets.

How long should I take Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine?

The recommended course of Lescuyer Collagen-Creatine is two months, or three jars, and can be repeated after a one-month break.
