When should this treatment be used for delicate oral mucosa?

The oral mucosa—the thin lining that covers the inside of the cheeks and lips and the gums—renews itself quickly but is easily damaged by everyday factors such as acidic or spicy foods, bread crusts, and very hot beverages. Eluday Aloe Repair is a daily, alcohol-free, anti-plaque mouthwash formulated with dried aloe vera extract and o-cymen-5-ol. It complements our selection of mouthwashes for everyday oral hygiene.

Its primary function targets the oral mucosa itself: the solution protects and helps repair surface-level damage to the mucosa. For a mouth that feels tight or hot, aloe vera soothes these uncomfortable sensations. The absence of alcohol is key here: rinsing does not cause the burning sensation often associated with certain mouthwashes—a sensation that is felt all the more intensely when the oral mucosa is already sensitive.

As an anti-plaque solution, it helps limit the formation of dental plaque—that sticky film of bacteria and food debris that builds up daily on the surface of the teeth and along the gums. Its minty flavor, enhanced with hints of anise and eucalyptus, freshens breath and leaves your mouth feeling clean.

It’s ideal for daily use when your mouth is prone to irritation, but also during times when it’s under stress: a minor burn from a hot drink, biting your cheek, very spicy meals, or sensitive gums that make brushing uncomfortable. It is sweetened with saccharin and hydrogenated starch hydrolysate, giving it a mild flavor.

In a sensitive mouth, brushing itself can cause further irritation if the bristles are too hard. For this reason, we recommend the Sunstar Gum Pro Sensitive toothbrush: its ultra-soft bristles clean the teeth and gum line without irritating the gum tissue, before the mouthwash takes over.

How should you use this daily mouthwash?

Directions for Use

Rinse your mouth for 30 seconds with 15 ml of undiluted Eluday Aloe Repair solution, morning and night after brushing. Spit it out. Do not rinse with water.

Precautions

  • For oral use only. Do not swallow.

  • Discontinue use if persistent tingling, a burning sensation, redness, or swelling of the lips or inside the mouth occurs.
  • If you have a history of epilepsy or seizures, consult a doctor before use: the formula contains eucalyptus essential oil and menthol.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
  • Consult a dentist or doctor if irritation, a sore, or a canker sore does not heal within two weeks, if your gums bleed repeatedly, or if pain persists.

Our expert advice on using Eluday Aloe Repair daily

Many people judge a mouthwash by the sensation it leaves: the more it stings, the more effective it’s thought to be. For a sensitive mouth, however, the opposite is true—since the burning sensation actually perpetuates the discomfort you’re trying to soothe. Daily mouthwash use supports oral hygiene and comfort; it does not address the underlying cause. The key factor to monitor is therefore duration: if discomfort persists despite a proper oral care routine, consult a dentist—especially if you notice any of the symptoms listed in the precautions.

The order of steps is just as important as the product itself. After brushing, spit out the toothpaste without rinsing your mouth, then move directly to the mouthwash: this way, you keep the fluoride from the toothpaste on your teeth, which the mouthwash does not provide. If the toothpaste is causing irritation, check its ingredients: formulas containing sodium lauryl sulfate, a foaming agent, are often less well tolerated by sensitive mucous membranes.

FAQ

Can I use Eluday Aloe Repair every day for an extended period?

Yes. Eluday Aloe Repair is a daily mouthwash that does not contain chlorhexidine: it is not subject to the one- to two-week limit that applies to antiseptic mouthwashes, whose prolonged use can stain the teeth and tongue and disrupt the oral flora. It can be incorporated into your oral hygiene routine long-term.

Can I eat or drink right after using Eluday Aloe Repair?

It’s best to wait about 30 minutes. Eating or drinking immediately afterward washes away the solution that has been in contact with your teeth and gums. When used in the evening as the last step before bed, it remains in place all night.

Can I use Eluday Aloe Repair with orthodontic appliances?

Yes. The friction from brackets and wires is one of the factors that can irritate the mucous membranes of the cheeks and lips, and this mouthwash is suitable for braces wearers. However, if a sore keeps recurring in the same spot, you should have your braces adjusted by your orthodontist.

Can Eluday Aloe Repair replace brushing my teeth?

No. A mouthwash complements brushing and cleaning between teeth; it does not replace them: only the mechanical action of a toothbrush, floss, or interdental brushes can remove plaque that has already formed. The mouthwash then works on the areas that these methods cannot reach as effectively.
