When should you use this sunscreen to protect your skin?

Beauty of Joseon’s Rice Water + B5 SPF 50+ Sunscreen offers high protection against UVA and UVB rays. Its organic sun filters absorb the energy from UV rays, acting like a shield that blocks their impact before they can damage the skin. Used daily, it helps prevent sunburn as well as premature skin aging and the appearance of sun-induced dark spots.

Its water-based texture spreads easily and absorbs quickly, without leaving white streaks. It is therefore suitable for all skin tones. Its transparent, satiny, and non-sticky finish is particularly well-suited for combination to oily skin, but is suitable for all skin types. Its lightweight formula also makes it comfortable to wear in hot or humid weather.

The formula contains 30% rice seed water, panthenol, and colloidal oats. These ingredients act as a reservoir of moisture and comfort to maintain the skin’s hydration. Panthenol also helps support the skin’s protective function, much like a wall whose tightly fitted bricks limit water evaporation.

This sunscreen provides a refreshing sensation that is especially welcome when the skin feels hot. Panthenol, beta-glucan, and oats help soothe feelings of discomfort and preserve the skin’s suppleness. Its lightweight finish also minimizes the heavy feeling and shine often sought after by those with oily skin.

It integrates easily into a makeup routine. Applied as the final step in your skincare routine, it creates a smooth, non-flaky base when used in the right amount and left on the skin for a few minutes. It helps protect the skin barrier while maintaining a natural finish—somewhere between matte and dewy.

To enhance comfort for normal to dry skin, you can apply Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream: the cream provides additional nourishment, while the sunscreen helps protect the skin from the effects of UV rays.

How do you use this sunscreen?

Directions for Use

  1. Use Beauty of Joseon Rice Water + B5 SPF50+ Sunscreen every morning as the final step in your skincare routine. Apply it generously and evenly to your face, neck, ears, and other exposed areas.
  2. Gently massage until absorbed, making sure to cover the hairline and the contours of the face. Wait 5 to 10 minutes before applying makeup to allow the formula to set properly on the skin.
  3. Reapply every two hours during prolonged sun exposure, as well as after swimming, heavy sweating, or toweling off. Since this formula is not marketed as water-resistant, choose a sunscreen suitable for water activities.

Our expert tips for daily protection

To ensure even coverage, do not mix this sunscreen with your moisturizer or foundation: diluting it could result in areas that are not adequately protected. Instead, apply each product one after the other, then let the sunscreen set before applying makeup. Also remember to reapply throughout the day, especially when having lunch on a patio, going for a walk, or spending time near a window, as UVA rays can partially pass through glass.

Frequently Asked Questions About Relief Sun Aqua-fresh

Does this sunscreen contain mineral filters?
No. Relief Sun Aqua-fresh uses organic sun filters, sometimes called chemical filters. These absorb UV rays and convert their energy before it is dissipated. They provide an invisible texture suitable for all skin tones.

Is it suitable for combination or oily skin?
Yes. Its fluid, lightweight, and quickly absorbed texture is particularly well-suited for combination to oily skin. Its breathable, satin finish avoids the heavy feel of some sunscreens. However, it is not a treatment for excess sebum.

What is the difference between Relief Sun and Aqua-fresh?
Relief Sun has a creamier texture and a luminous finish, often preferred by those with normal to dry skin. Relief Sun Aqua-fresh has a more watery, refreshing texture with a less rich finish that better suits the preferences of those with combination to oily skin.
