When should you use this Lehning whitening toothpaste?
Lehning Whitening Formula Toothpaste is a fluoride toothpaste that combines three naturally derived ingredients: perlite, a volcanic mineral; an extract from lemon balm leaves and stems; and eucalyptus globulus essential oil. This formula replaces the previous organic version of Lehning Whitening Toothpaste, with a completely revised formulation.
Perlite is responsible for the formula’s whitening effects. Everyday stains form on the tooth surface: tannins from coffee, tea, and red wine, as well as tar from tobacco, adhere to the thin film of salivary proteins that coats the enamel and gradually discolor it. Finely ground, the perlite acts as a polishing agent on this surface during brushing, precisely where these deposits accumulate. If you’d like to compare it with other textures or active ingredients, check out our selection of toothpastes and teeth-whitening products.
Lemon balm and eucalyptus essential oil provide natural freshness with every brush. Lemon balm, an aromatic plant in the mint family, is known for its lemon-scented leaves; Eucalyptus globulus adds a more distinct balsamic note. Together, they create a freshness distinct from the mint found in most toothpastes. The paste’s slightly sweet flavor comes from erythritol, steviol glycosides, and saccharin. The formula is free of artificial colors.
This toothpaste is primarily intended for coffee, tea, or red wine lovers and smokers, who notice their teeth becoming discolored over time. It replaces your regular toothpaste in your morning and evening routines and is also a great addition to a travel kit for brushing after lunch, at the office, or while on the go. Between dental cleanings, when stains gradually reappear, it helps maintain the brightness of your smile.
Brushing alone does not clean the spaces between your teeth, where discoloration first sets in. We recommend supplementing your routine with TePe Original interdental brushes: used in the evening, they remove plaque from these hard-to-reach areas, allowing the toothpaste to work on a clean surface.

Precautions
- Contains 0.3% w/w calcium fluoride (equivalent to 1,450 ppm of fluoride). If you are exposed to fluoride from other sources, consult a dentist or doctor.
- Due to the presence of essential oil, do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women or in children under 10 years of age.
- History of epilepsy or seizures: Consult a doctor before use, as eucalyptus essential oil is rich in eucalyptol (1,8-cineole).
- Do not use if you have a known allergy to eucalyptus, lemon balm, or any of the ingredients. The formula contains limonene, a declared allergen, as well as alpha-pinene and beta-pinene.
- Sensitive teeth, exposed tooth necks, or receding gums: Consult your dentist before using a whitening toothpaste, which is more abrasive than regular toothpaste.
- Recurrent canker sores: A toothpaste without sodium lauryl sulfate may be preferable; ask your pharmacist or dentist for advice.
- Bleeding gums, tooth pain, or a mouth sore that lasts more than two weeks: see a dentist.
- Do not swallow. For oral use only.
- Use within 6 months after opening. Close the tube tightly after use and keep out of reach of children.

Our Expert Advice on Lehning Whitening Toothpaste
The key change with this new formula is the target audience: it is no longer suitable for the youngest members of the family. If the tube was previously kept in the shared bathroom, be sure to have a toothpaste suitable for children on hand—this is the most important precaution to keep in mind. Also, keep your expectations realistic: a whitening toothpaste maintains brightness without altering the natural shade of the teeth. A single tooth that darkens, or persistent yellowing, is a matter for the dentist—not a change in toothpaste.
At the counter, we emphasize technique just as much as the formula. After a meal accompanied by wine, fruit juice, or soda, wait half an hour before brushing: enamel weakened by acidity doesn’t respond well to brushing. When rinsing, a small sip of water is enough, since rinsing too thoroughly washes away the fluoride before it has a chance to work. Finally, judge the results over several weeks rather than just by looking in the mirror the next day.
FAQ
Can I use Lehning Whitening Toothpaste without damaging my enamel?
As with any whitening toothpaste, the formula works by gently abrading the tooth surface. The abrasiveness index (RDA) of this formula is not disclosed. Brushing gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush, using strokes from the gums toward the teeth, minimizes friction on the enamel and at the gum line.
Can I whiten my crowns or veneers with Lehning Whitening Toothpaste?
No. Crowns, veneers, and ceramic or resin restorations do not react to whitening products: their shade remains the same as when they were first placed. The toothpaste removes surface deposits, but any color difference between a natural tooth and a restoration must be addressed at the dentist’s office.
Can I use Lehning Whitening Formula Toothpaste while undergoing homeopathic treatment?
The formula contains no mint, menthol, or camphor, but it does contain eucalyptus essential oil, which has a strong scent. No compatibility with homeopathy is claimed for this toothpaste. The prescribing practitioner is best positioned to determine whether an aromatic toothpaste is suitable during treatment.
Can I use Lehning Whitening Formula Toothpaste if I wear braces?
There is nothing in its composition that would prevent its use, but its effect is limited to the surfaces reached by the toothbrush. Under the bonded brackets, the enamel remains covered throughout treatment: when the brackets are removed, a difference in shade between the protected area and the rest of the tooth is common. The white spots that sometimes appear around the brackets are not caused by a whitening toothpaste; your orthodontist is the best person to assess this.
