Spasfon for Treating Spasmodic Pain

Spasmodic pain can be extremely uncomfortable and disruptive, affecting our daily lives. Fortunately, there are effective solutions to relieve this pain and restore optimal well-being. One of the most popular remedies recommended by healthcare professionals is Spasfon, a medication containing phloroglucinol.

For information on warnings, precautions, side effects, and contraindications, please consult the Spasfon package insert.

Description of Spasfon

Spasfon tablets are indicated for the treatment of spasmodic pain in the intestines, bile ducts, bladder, and uterus.

“Spasmodic” is an adjective referring to a spasm. A muscle is said to be spasmodic when it remains locked up. Spasmodic pain is commonly associated with abdominal pain, particularly in cases of violent, uncontrolled contractions (stomach cramps). More generally, spasmodic pain is synonymous with cramps, since both involve painful, involuntary muscle contractions. This pain can be relieved by taking antispasmodic (or spasmolytic) medications.

What is Spasfon?

Spasfon is a medication that specifically targets spasmodic pain, also known as muscle spasms. This pain is often caused by intense, involuntary muscle contractions, usually in the abdomen. It can be associated with various conditions, such as colic, digestive disorders, painful periods, and other urinary tract issues.

Phloroglucinol: The Active Ingredient in Spasfon

The main active ingredient in Spasfon is phloroglucinol. Phloroglucinol is an antispasmodic medication that acts directly on the muscles, relaxing them and thereby reducing involuntary contractions. It targets spasmodic pain at its source, providing fast and effective relief.

How Spasfon Works

Spasfon, thanks to its specific phloroglucinol-based formulation, directly targets the muscles affected by spasms. It works by releasing muscle tension and alleviating involuntary contractions. By relaxing the muscles, Spasfon relieves spasmodic pain and promotes long-lasting relief.

How many Spasfon tablets can you take per day?

It is recommended not to exceed a dosage of 6 tablets per day, taking one to two Spasfon tablets per dose, spaced 6 to 8 hours apart. You can take this medication at any time of day, whether before or after meals.

Method of administration for Spasfon: oral.

It is important to follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions and recommendations regarding dosage and duration of treatment.

What is the active ingredient in Spasfon tablets?

The active ingredients in this over-the-counter medication are 80,000 mg of phloroglucinol hydrate (equivalent to 62,233 mg of anhydrous phloroglucinol) and 80,000 mg of trimethylphloroglucinol
per coated tablet.

Excipients in Spasfon: lactose monohydrate, sucrose, polyvinyl acetate, wheat starch, stearic acid, magnesium stearate. Coating: polyvinyl acetate, talc, sucrose, gum arabic, gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171), erythrosine (E 127), carnauba wax.
