Our advice and opinions from natural health experts

What happens to the skin of people allergic to a product applied to the skin?

Indeed, we are not "allergic", we are allergic to something, never to everything. When a substance becomes allergenic for the skin it becomes very red at the place where this allergen is in contact with the skin with a large amount of oozing on the surface and itching. If the applications continue the manifestations spread and the symptoms worsen. There are many allergens (Nickel, chromium, rubber, preservatives, perfumes etc.).

What happens to sensitive or reactive skin ?

In this case there are few visible signs on the skin: it is most of the time a feeling of tightness, burning , which worsens after each application of cosmetic product and can become permanent and very annoying. It is more common in women with thin, clear and dry skin, anxious and stressed. As it is simply an over-reaction of the skin that is triggered with many products, patients say "be allergic to everything", but it is not an allergy.
