Tick-Puss 2.5 mg Biocanina 250 ml is formulated with fipronil; this anti-flea topical spray is specifically designed for dogs and cats and provides up to 3 months of protection. Fipronil is an insecticide and acaricide belonging to the phenylpyrazole family. It works by inhibiting the GABA complex, binding to the chloride channel, and thereby blocking the pre- and post-synaptic passage of chloride ions through the cell membrane. This results in uncontrolled activity of the central nervous system and the death of insects or mites. The insecticidal efficacy against new infestations by adult fleas lasts up to 6 weeks in cats and up to 3 months in dogs, depending on the environmental conditions. The product’s acaricidal efficacy lasts for 4 weeks against ticks, depending on the environmental infestation pressure.

Route of administration: Manual spray bottle for external use only.
To moisten the coat down to the skin, apply 3 to 6 ml per kg of body weight (equivalent to 7.5 to 15 mg of fipronil per kg of body weight), depending on coat length.
This dosage can be achieved by applying 6 to 12 sprays per kg of body weight. Depending on coat length:
- The spray nozzle on the 250-ml package dispenses 1.5 ml per spray. It is sufficient to treat a 20-kg dog 2 to 4 times.
Spray the product over the animal’s entire coat from a distance of approximately 10–20 cm. Apply against the direction of hair growth, ensuring that the animal’s entire coat is moistened. Massage the coat, especially in long-haired animals, to ensure the product penetrates down to the skin. To treat the area around the head, or when treating young or nervous animals, apply the product by first spraying it onto a glove and then rubbing the glove over the coat. Allow to air dry. Do not use a towel to dry the animal.
Precautions for Use
Do not use on sick animals (systemic diseases, fever, etc.) or those recovering from illness. Do not use on rabbits, as adverse effects—which may sometimes be fatal—can occur. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients.
