Urgo Bandages for Superficial Burns and Wounds, available at our natural pharmacy, are used to treat superficial first- and second-degree household burns or superficial wounds.
A burn is tissue damage often caused by contact with a heat source for varying lengths of time. Burns vary in severity: first-degree (similar to a sunburn, with a bright red, painful lesion) and superficial second-degree (formation of a blister).
Urgo Burn and Superficial Wound Dressings combine two substances (petrolatum and carboxymethylcellulose) within a gauze pad that helps relieve pain and promote wound healing . It does not stick to the wound, can be removed painlessly, and does not stain. The benefits of Urgo Advanced Antiseptic Bandages provide effective solutions for your care needs; they are available at organic pharmacies and offer optimal protection and healing.
The first step in case of a burn: cool the burn with cold water
Above all, it is important to cool the burn with cold water. The sooner you do this, the more effective it is. This essential step reduces local heat and prevents inflammation from spreading. A golden rule is the “rule of three 15s,” which means rinsing the burn at 15°C, from a distance of 15 centimeters, for about 15 minutes.
For superficial burns, URGO has the solution!
When a blister forms, it’s important to leave it intact as much as possible and avoid popping it. This is because the blister acts as a barrier against infection. If it does burst, however, it’s essential to disinfect the area. In addition, it is recommended to apply a bandage or a sterile lipid-colloid gauze pad, such as URGO Burns and Superficial Wounds, to the affected area.
We also offer Urgo Waterproof Dressings (large size, pack of 5) at the best price in our online pharmacy.
In the case of a superficial second-degree burn: First, run the wound under cold water for 15 minutes to limit the spread of the burn.
In all cases:
There is no need to apply a cream beforehand.
The usual duration of treatment is 5 to 6 days, with the first dressing changed after 24 hours, then every 48 hours.

Precautions for Use
Urgo Burn and Superficial Wound Dressings are intended only for the treatment of localized wounds no larger than the size of a dressing. For extensive burns, the dressing should extend well beyond the wound to allow for the absorption of exudate. If you see no improvement in healing after 6 days, consult your doctor. For any burn in a child, ask your pharmacist for advice. If there are clinical signs of local infection (redness spreading to uninjured skin, pain, etc.), consult your pharmacist or doctor. The URGO Burns and Superficial Wounds dressing must be used immediately after opening the packet; keep it away from heat, light, and moisture.
