Our advice and advice from pharmacy experts
For your baby, suckling is a real need. During pregnancy, in utero, he was already sucking his thumb.
For a baby, the phenomenon of sucking is natural, spontaneous, physiological. This need, which he developed in his mother's womb, gives him relief, well-being against stress and pain.
Several scientific studies have highlighted the 92% reduction (according to a 2005 survey published in the British Medical Journal) in the risk of sudden infant death syndrome when sleeping with a pacifier. The position of the open mouth around the pacifier during sleep would promote ventilation and reduce the risk of reflux.
When the child begins to grow, beyond 6 months, try to comfort his anger or his anxieties with words and hugs before offering him the pacifier, so as not to break the communication, the exchanges and the tenderness of which he definitely needs.
