What causes abnormal mucus secretion?
Mucus is essential for protecting the bronchi: it is the first “line of defense” against irritants and infectious agents, which continuously enter our lungs when we breathe in (at a rate of 500 L of air inhaled per hour, it’s easy to see that there are a lot of “impurities”!). It is secreted by two types of cells: the epithelium (surface cells) and the seromucous glands.

chronic bronchitis

diarrhea
The strict medical sense of diarrhea is "emission of stools too frequent and too abundant". In fact, common sense equates diarrhea with the notion of fluid and frequent stools.
