Phase 2 of a high-protein Protifast diet is calculated to provide you with very little carbohydrate (30 to 50 g per day), little fat, and an optimal amount of protein. It aims to install the ketosis mechanism in a minimum of 5 days, which will promote rapid weight loss without deterioration of muscle mass.

Phase 2 Protifast is based on the use of protein in sachets (medicalized protein) defined according to their chemical index and digestibility coefficient.

It is important to specify that it is not necessary to make any dietary differences during the high-protein diet protocols ... are prohibited: meat, fish, bread, starchy foods, fruits, fruit juice, cheese, milk, yogurts, alcohol, ...

At Protifast, there are also products specifically developed for this type of protocol and which greatly facilitate some of the deprivations of this phase.

During this phase you can only use medical proteins in sachets and Protifast vegetable preparations.

Regarding the protein sachets which can be presented in many flavors, you will ensure that these do not contain more than 5g of carbohydrates per portion : On the Protifast preparations the mention of compatibility with phase 1 is also well stipulated (know that few products of this brand are not compatible but you must nevertheless control it).

Regarding vegetables, do not use frozen or canned vegetables as much as possible and prefer fresh vegetables. Sweeteners without carbohydrates are allowed (aspartame, saccharin, sucralose) as are chewing gum and candy if they contain 0g of carbohydrate.

How many servings of protein per day on the Protifast Phase 2 diet?

The number of protein servings per day is calculated from the concept of protein requirements necessary for the preservation of muscle mass during a young. It is 1.2g / kg / day for women and 1.5g / kg / day for men.

The ideal weight in kg is taken as the basis for calculation and not the weight at the start of the diet.

The calculation is then the following:

  • Number of protein portions per day for women = 1.2 x ideal weight in kg / 18
  • Number of portions of protein per day in humans = 1.5x ideal weight in kg / 18

This results in at least phase 1 to 4 to 6 servings of protein.

Phase 2 of the Protifast High Protein Diet

You will consume 3 sachets of protein per day if you are a woman and 4 if you are a man:

1 high-protein sachet or a phase 1 waffle for breakfast + tea or coffee without sugar (sweetener sucralose or aspartame allowed)
1 protein meal with authorized foods (natural proteins + authorized vegetables)
1 high-protein sachet or a phase 1 Crousti bar for afternoon tea
1 high protein sachet at dinner + authorized vegetables (2 sachets for men)
Vitamin and mineral food supplements.

You can eat meals with natural proteins at midday for lunch or in the evening for dinner.

VEGETABLES AUTHORIZED AT WILL:

Raw or cooked, without fat.

Asparagus, Swiss chard, broccoli, eggplant, celery, celery root, mushroom, green cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, pickle, zucchini, endive, spinach, fennel, sorrel, green pepper, purslane, radish, salad ( curly, lettuce, lamb's lettuce, watercress, escarole, batavia.), fresh bean sprouts.

Vegetables authorized in more limited quantities:

100 to 250g per day or the equivalent of a bowl.
Artichoke (leaves), cardoon, red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, soybean sprouts, extra fine green beans, turnip, patisson, leek, red pepper, dandelion, salsify, tomato (one per day).

NATURAL PROTEINS FOR LUNCH OR EVENING MEALS:

Your choice of 100g for women and 150g for men:

- Lean meat: veal or beef.
- Poultry: turkey or chicken, but without the skin (avoid goose and duck)
- Lean fresh or smoked fish.
- Slice of lean ham.
- Egg white to mix with vegetables in salad.
- Seafood: crustaceans and shellfish (lobster, crab, shrimp) - 0% white cheese or tofu

AUTHORIZED DRINKS:

Tea, coffee, herbal teas with sweets but without sugar.
Diet Coke or Zero Coke
Drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day. Sparkling waters interesting for their mineral salt contribution. Hepar water rich in magnesium if constipation

AUTHORIZED SEASONING:

Salt, pepper, herbs, mustard, aromatics and herbs from the garden, lemon juice. A spoon of olive oil for essential fatty acids is welcome. Olive oil is particularly recommended to help cook pancakes and omelettes in sachets.

If your morning is very long, you can plan an extra snack (the goal is to have a portion of protein about every 4 hours). Likewise, in the event of a craving, the diet plans to be able to take an additional portion of protein (especially not take anything else).
