When should Gallia Bébé Expert Rice be used?
Gallia Bébé Expert Rice Infant Formula is a food product intended for special medical purposes. This formula meets the nutritional needs of infants and young children with cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA). It should only be used under medical supervision, after the diagnosis has been confirmed, and in accordance with the recommendations of the healthcare professional caring for your child.
Its formula is based on an extensively hydrolyzed rice protein. The proteins are broken down into smaller components, much as if they were cut into pieces that are easier for the body to process. This formulation provides a plant-based protein source suitable for an elimination diet and meets the child’s specific nutritional needs.
This formula contains neither cow’s milk protein nor lactose. It is therefore suitable for children who must follow a strict elimination diet for milk proteins. However, the absence of lactose should not be confused with the treatment of CMPA: the allergy involves milk proteins, not lactose.
Gallia Bébé Expert Rice also provides fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. These nutrients help support the infant’s growth and development. The formula contains, in particular, DHA, hydrolyzed rice protein, fructo-oligosaccharide fiber, and added amino acids.
The formula can serve as the infant’s sole source of nutrition from birth to 6 months if the infant is not breastfed. After 6 months, it can be incorporated into a gradually diversified diet, in accordance with the pediatrician’s recommendations, and may be used up to 36 months of age. Breast milk remainsthe gold standard for infant nutrition whenever breastfeeding is possible.
The powder is mixed with water to create a liquid formula suitable for a bottle. Strict adherence to the dosage, hygiene guidelines, and preparation instructions helps ensure the baby’s food safety. - Close the bottle. Shake it for 10 seconds from side to side, then for 10 seconds up and down. Do not roll the bottle between your hands.
- If necessary, warm the formula in a bottle warmer or in a water bath, without exceeding 40 °C. Do not use a microwave oven due to the risk of burns caused by uneven heat distribution. Shake again, then check the temperature by placing a few drops on the inside of your wrist.

Our expert advice on Gallia Bébé Expert Rice
When a baby is on an elimination diet for cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA), avoid switching formulas or introducing any dairy product on your own, even if it’s made with goat’s or sheep’s milk. The proteins in these milks are similar to those in cow’s milk and may trigger a reaction in some children. Keep track of the amounts consumed, digestive tolerance, and any symptoms so you can provide accurate information to your pediatrician. A decrease in food intake, repeated vomiting, persistent diarrhea, a widespread skin reaction, breathing difficulties, or a slowdown in weight gain require immediate medical attention.
Frequently Asked Questions About Gallia Baby Expert Rice
Does Gallia Bébé Expert Rice contain cow’s milk?
The formula is made without cow’s milk protein or lactose. It uses an extensively hydrolyzed rice protein hydrolysate as its protein source. However, it should only be given on medical advice and under medical supervision.
Can it be used from birth?
Yes, this formula can be the baby’s sole source of nutrition until 6 months of age when breastfeeding is not possible. After this age, it can be used alongside the introduction of solid foods, as advised by a pediatrician.
Can this formula be alternated with goat’s milk?
No, not without the doctor’s explicit approval. Infant formula made from goat milk protein is generally not a suitable alternative for CMPA due to the risk of a cross-reaction with cow’s milk proteins.
