Directions for Use and Dosage of Vizarsin

Using Sildenafil - Guidelines and Dosage

The Effect of Sildenafil (Vizarsin)

Sildenafil, available as a generic medication in 50 mg tablets, is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, thereby enabling a firmer and longer-lasting erection during sexual stimulation.

Guidelines for Using Vizarsin

It is essential to follow the guidelines for using Sildenafil to maximize its effectiveness and minimize potential risks. Here are some recommendations:

  • Take the tablet about 30 minutes to 1 hour before planned sexual activity.
  • Sildenafil only works when you are sexually aroused. It does not cause an automatic erection.
  • Avoid high-fat meals before taking the medication, as this can delay absorption.
  • Do not exceed the dose recommended by your healthcare provider.

Recommended Dosage

The dosage of Sildenafil depends on the severity of your erectile dysfunction and your doctor’s recommendations. In general, the recommended starting dose is 50 mg, but it may be adjusted based on your response. Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Say No to Erectile Dysfunction with Ginger

Ginger has vasodilatory properties that facilitate blood flow. It is an aphrodisiac par excellence; our grandmothers already knew this and have passed down recipes to help treat erectile dysfunction. Here’s an example of an infusion: grate 50 g of fresh ginger and let it steep for at least 4 hours in one liter of water in the refrigerator. Drink two glasses a day and wait 15 days to see the first results and improve your libido.

FAMILY VIDAL

VIZARSIN

Updated on April 24, 2019
Drug family: Erection Inducer

This medicine is a generic of VIAGRA.

Indications

This drug is a vasodilator that acts specifically on the penis. Its action on the rest of the cardiovascular system is minimal, and is only of consequence when used in conjunction with nitrate vasodilators (see Drug Interactions). It can only work in situations of sexual desire, and generally does not trigger an erection on its own. Its effect is felt within an hour of taking it, and lasts for 4 to 5 hours. Erection is improved or restored in 75% of users, whatever the cause of impotence (except local radiotherapy and certain surgical procedures).

It is used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Contraindications

This drug should not be used in the following cases:
  • cardiovascular weakness contraindicating the effort involved in sexual intercourse (severe angina pectoris, severe heart failure, etc.) ;
  • situations in which the effect of the drug has not been studied: severe hepatic insufficiency, severe hypotension, recent history of stroke or myocardial infarction, severe retinal disease (retinitis pigmentosa);
  • impaired vision due to optic nerve damage;
  • in association with nitrate vasodilators (see Drug Interactions).

Warning

Erectile dysfunction can only be treated with medication once the curable causes of impotence have been identified. Impotence of psychological origin can be improved or cured by specific therapies.

The resumption of sexual activity in a man weakened by age or chronic illness can be the cause of a cardiovascular accident. A prior medical check-up is necessary.

Caution is required for men with coagulation disorders, penile malformations, stomach or duodenal ulcers, or diseases predisposing to priapism (sickle-cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia).

In the event of sudden loss of vision after taking the drug, stop treatment and have an ophthalmological examination carried out as a matter of urgency.

Avoid drinking large quantities of alcoholic beverages: risk of reduced erectile capacity.

Attention : conducteurIn view of its potential adverse effects, this drug may not be compatible with driving a car or operating dangerous machinery in some people. Before driving or operating machinery, check that you can tolerate the drug before taking it for the first time.

Drug interactions

The combination of sildenafil with nitrate vasodilators can cause severe hypotension. These vasodilators may include heart medications such as nitroprusside, nitrite, nitrates, trinitrin, linsidomine, molsidomine and nicorandil. They may also be products sold in sex shops: "poppers", "boosts", "snappers", which contain nitrites and are used as orgasm enhancers or to dilate the anus.

The effect of sildenafil may be increased by drugs containing ritonavir, saquinavir, itraconazole, ketoconazole, cimetidine or erythromycin: a reduction in sildenafil dosage may be necessary.

Sildenafil may also interact with alpha-blockers, particularly those used in the treatment of urinary disorders due to prostate adenoma.

Fertility, pregnancy and breast-feeding

This drug is not indicated for use in women.

Directions for use and dosage

May be taken with or without food. Taken on an empty stomach, it works faster. With a meal, its effect is delayed.

Orodispersible tablets should be placed on the tongue, where they dissolve rapidly.

Usual dosage :

  • Men over 18: 1 x 50 mg tablet, approximately 1 hour before sexual intercourse. Depending on the effect of the drug, this dose may be reduced to 25 mg or increased to 100 mg. Do not exceed one dose per day.

Advice

This drug is not an aphrodisiac; it does not create sexual desire, but helps to make it real.

Possible side effects

Very frequently (more than 10% of users): headaches.

Frequently (more than 1% of users): dizziness, facial flushing, blurred vision (mainly color vision), difficulty digesting, blocked nose.

More rarely: skin rash, drowsiness, decreased sensitivity to touch, muscle pain, eye pain and red eyes, palpitations, vomiting, nausea, dry mouth, fatigue, chest pain, malaise, nosebleed, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, decrease or increase in blood pressure.

Other post-marketing effects include myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, heart rhythm disorders, allergic reactions and convulsions.

Rare partial or total visual field loss has also been reported in users of this drug (see Caution).

The risk of priapism is low. If the erection is abnormally prolonged and painful, the doctor must be contacted urgently so that appropriate treatment can be initiated.

LEXICON

cerebrovascular accident

Damage to the brain caused by hemorrhage or sudden blockage of an artery. Depending on the extent of the lesion, the consequences can be more or less serious: temporary malaise, paralysis, coma.

Abbreviation: Stroke.

See article: Cerebrovascular accident (CVA)

prostate adenoma

An enlargement of the prostate gland, which lies beneath the male bladder. This enlargement is benign and has nothing to do with cancer, but it can interfere with the passage of urine through the canal (urethra) that runs through the gland.

Symptoms suggesting the presence of a prostate adenoma are :

  • difficulty in urinating (slow, weak stream) ;
  • the need to get up several times a night to urinate;
  • urinary urgency that is difficult to control.

Certain drugs, notably atropinics, can have the undesirable effect of aggravating the discomfort and can lead to a total blockage of bladder evacuation. They are therefore contraindicated or should be used with caution in men with the symptoms described above.

See article: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

alpha-blockers

Alpha-receptors, found notably on blood vessels and the urinary tract, are responsible for their contraction. An alpha-blocker is a substance that blocks these receptors, causing vasodilation (relaxation of muscle fibers in the vessel wall) or opening of the urethral sphincter.

alteration

Change from a normal state, deterioration.

angina pectoris

Oppressive pain due to partial obstruction of the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. It can occur in the chest, arms or jaw.

Synonym: angina.

antecedent

A condition that has been cured or is still evolving. The antecedent may be personal or familial. Antecedents are the history of a person's health.

convulsions

Involuntary contractions limited to a few muscles or generalized to the whole body. They are due to suffering or excessive stimulation of the brain: fever, intoxication, lack of oxygen, brain damage. Convulsions may be due to an epileptic seizure or high fever in young children.

sickle cell disease

Hereditary hemoglobin disease, mainly affecting black-skinned people of African origin. Sickle-shaped red blood cells are rigid and obstruct small blood vessels. Sickle cell disease causes painful attacks, fever and anemia. Air travel is contraindicated in severe forms.

duodenum

Part of the intestine into which food from the stomach enters.

rash

Appearance of pimples or patches on the skin. These lesions may be caused by a food or a drug, and may reflect an allergy or toxic effect. Many viruses can also cause rashes: rubella, roseola and measles are the best known.

hypotension

Decrease in blood pressure, which can cause fatigue, cold feet and hands, dizziness and malaise. Hypotension can be caused by medication, hemorrhage or severe pain, or by a sudden change from lying down to standing up (orthostatic hypotension).

impotence

Erection impossible or insufficient for penetration.

See article: Erectile dysfunction

myocardial infarction

Destruction of part of the heart muscle (myocardium), deprived of blood by obstruction of its arteries.

See article: After a myocardial infarction

heart failure

Inability of the heart to perform its pumping function. The main symptoms of heart failure are fatigue and shortness of breath on exertion.

See articles: Heart rhythm disorders

liver failure

Inability of the liver to fulfill its function, which is essentially the elimination of certain waste products, but also the synthesis of many biological substances essential to the body: albumin, cholesterol and coagulation factors (vitamin K, etc.).

leukemia

Cancer developed from bone marrow cells. There are several varieties, depending on the type of cells affected and whether the disease is acute or chronic.

orodispersible

A tablet that disintegrates in the mouth on contact with saliva. It can also be dispersed in a glass of water before ingestion.

palpitations

Abnormal perception of irregular heartbeat.

See Palpitations.

dosage

Quantity and distribution of a drug dose according to the patient's age, weight and general condition.

priapism

Abnormally prolonged and painful erection.

radiotherapy

Use of radioactivity to treat certain diseases, particularly cancer.

allergic reaction

Reaction caused by the body's hypersensitivity to a drug. Allergic reactions can take many forms: urticaria, angioedema, eczema, measles-like rash, etc. Anaphylactic shock is the most common. Anaphylactic shock is a generalized allergic reaction that causes a sudden drop in blood pressure.

See article: Can you be allergic to drugs?

retina

Nervous tissue that lines the back of the eye and acts as an image sensor.

blood pressure

See blood pressure.

heart rhythm disorder

A serious or benign abnormality in the frequency of heart contractions. Extrasystole is a contraction occurring just before or after a normal contraction, often perceived as a slight shock in the chest. Fibrillation is an irregular, disordered contraction. Other disorders include torsades de pointes, Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome, Bouveret's disease, tachysystole, flutter and atrioventricular block.

See article: Heart rhythm disorders.

ulcer

A sunken lesion of the skin, mucous membranes or cornea.

  • Leg ulcer: chronic wound caused by poor blood circulation.
  • Peptic ulcer: localized wound in the mucosa of the stomach or duodenum, caused by excess acidity and very often the presence of bacteria (Helicobacter pylori). Ulcers are favored by stress, alcohol, smoking and certain medications (aspirin, NSAIDs, etc.).
vasodilator

Drug capable of dilating blood vessels (arteries, veins), as opposed to a vasoconstrictor.

vertigo

A symptom that may refer to an impression of loss of balance (common sense) or, more strictly, a sensation of spinning around oneself or the environment (medical sense).

See article: Vertigo.
