The Contour Plusblood glucose self-monitoring system (glucose meter, test strips, and control solution) is intended for self-monitoring of blood glucose levels by patients with diabetes, and for monitoring blood glucose levels by healthcare professionals, using whole venous or capillary blood (collected from the fingertip or palm), arterial blood, or blood from newborns.
It provides a quantitative measurement of glucose in whole blood, for values ranging from 10 mg/dL to 600 mg/dL.
It is intended solely for in vitro diagnostic use.
The CONTOUR PLUS self-monitoring system can be used to help track the effectiveness of a person’s blood glucose management program.

The CONTOUR®PLUS blood glucose meter is equipped with No Coding technology, which automatically codes the meter each time a test strip is inserted.
It also automatically marks a test performed with a control solution.
The CONTOUR PLUS blood glucose meter alerts you when a test strip does not contain enough blood and gives you the option to add more blood.
Your test strip is designed to easily “draw” blood through the end intended to receive the blood sample.

The CONTOUR PLUS kit is easy to use, even for those new to self-monitoring of blood glucose. The blood glucose meter features an intuitive interface and easy-to-use buttons, allowing you to perform blood glucose tests with ease, wherever you are and whenever you need to.
Inserting the test strip:
1- Remove a ContourPlus test strip from the vial. Close the vial tightly immediately after removing the test strip.
2- Hold the test strip with the gray end facing up, toward the meter.
3- Gently insert the gray end of the test strip into the insertion port until the meter emits a beep.
This action will activate the meter. An image of a test strip with a flashing drop of blood will appear, indicating that the blood glucose meter is ready for testing.
Obtaining a Blood Drop—Fingerstick Test
1- Press the lancing device firmly against the puncture site and press the activation button.
2- Massage your hand and finger toward the puncture site to obtain a drop of blood. Do not press around the puncture site.
3-Perform the test immediately after a blood drop of sufficient size has formed.
