The Aromapic line: protect yourself from mosquitoes with aromatherapy

Aromapic combines essential oils known for their repellent properties with Citriodiol®, a plant-based active ingredient derived from lemon eucalyptus essential oil. Tested in an independent laboratory, Aromapic repellents offer up to 7 hours of protection in temperate climates and up to 6 hours in tropical climates. True to Pranarôm’s commitment to quality, the line covers all your summer needs, from outdoor activities to summer evenings.

Protecting Yourself: Which Aromapic Repellent Should You Choose?

The choice depends on the area to be protected, the situation, and the user’s age:

  • Mosquito-repellent body spray —spray on exposed areas of the skin for protection during outings and travel.
  • Body Lotion Roller — an alcohol-free, milky texture to be applied to the skin like a body lotion, combining Citriodiol® and essential oils.
  • Room & Fabric Spray — to be sprayed into the air and on fabrics (clothing, sheets, sofas, mosquito nets), not on the skin.
  • Aromawatch Bracelet — a refillable holder to be infused with essential oils; convenient for travel, to be attached to a bag, stroller, or tent.

After a bite: soothing care

Unlike repellents, the Bites — Soothing Gel roller is a cosmetic treatment to be applied after a bite. Its roll-on applicator allows for precise application directly to the bite, featuring essential oils such as lavender, chamomile, and field mint, traditionally used to provide a sensation of freshness and relief.

How to Use Aromapic Repellents Correctly

Apply the repellent to exposed areas and reapply according to the protection duration indicated on the product. Avoid the eye area and mucous membranes; do not apply to children’s hands; and wash your hands thoroughly after use. Each product specifies a minimum age and specific conditions of use (some are suitable for children as young as 30 months; for the room spray, spray when children over one year of age are not present and ventilate the room for 30 minutes before they return; specific precautions apply for pregnant women depending on the product). Always refer to the label and package insert.

Advice from the pharmacist

Aromapic repellents are biocidal products: use them sparingly, following the dosages, age restrictions, and application areas specific to each product. The choice of a repellent depends on many factors—geographic location, mosquito species, the user’s age, and circumstances: if you’re traveling, especially to a region where mosquito-borne diseases are prevalent, don’t hesitate to ask me for advice on selecting the most appropriate protection. Save the soothing roll-on for use after a bite, once the mosquito has gone.
