More detailsBetsara’s story begins with three childhood friends, brought together by their love for Ravintsara and their desire to create something meaningful. Tahina SPIRAL, a Franco-Malagasy born in Grenoble, decided to return to his homeland to start his own Ravintsara plantation on his family’s land in Sahambavy, Madagascar, in November 2009. It was the beginning of an exciting adventure.
Tahina founded SARL GARCILASIO and launched his first harvest in April 2011. His vision was clear: to produce a high-quality essential oil. His oils, tested by aromatologists in France, were quickly recognized for their excellence.
However, Tahina discovered the difficult reality faced by Malagasy producers when dealing with large export companies. Driven by her commitment to respecting Malagasy labor, she co-founded the National Platform for the Promotion of the Ravintsara Industry (PNPF Ravintsara) to elevate the status of producers’ work and create a unified voice on Ravintsara production. He served as its president from 2011 to 2012, implementing training programs to improve producers’ working methods.
Meanwhile, in Grenoble, his childhood friend, Tristan IMBERT, shared his passion for the project. After years of preparation, Tristan joined the team in 2014. Thanks to his network of therapists, he confirmed the exceptional quality of Tahina’s oils. In collaboration with Tahina, they founded SARL Akal NIVAS and launched the Betsara brand in April 2015 in France to showcase Malagasy expertise and offer superior-quality products.
In 2018, Teddy DACHET, the third longtime friend, finally joined the team as a partner. His mission: to build strong relationships with customers.
