When should you use this micro-exfoliating gel to even out your complexion?
ACM Dépiwhite Micro-Exfoliating Gel is a cleansing gel from the Dépiwhite line, which features ACM’s range of skincare products designed for skin prone to dark spots—from dark spot-correcting creams to sun protection products. Its formula combines niacinamide (vitamin B3) and lactic acid—a fruit acid from the AHA family—in a gentle cleansing base. It also contains a vitamin C derivative, 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid.
Upon contact with water, the gel lathers and gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin: the cleansing base removes the day’s impurities, while lactic acid loosens the bonds between dead surface cells—without grains or scrubbing. Freed of these cells that dull the complexion, the skin regains its radiance with each cleansing.
Used regularly, this gel helps even out the complexion and visibly reduce dark spots. Dark spots appear mainly on areas exposed to the sun, such as the face, décolletage, or the backs of the hands: UV rays stimulate the production of melanin, the skin’s pigment, and each new exposure can reignite a spot that was thought to have faded. Regular exfoliation of the skin’s surface is therefore part of a long-term routine, season after season.
With continued use, the skin becomes clear and radiant, and the skin texture is refined. This gel is suitable for all skin types, even combination to oily skin: it’s ideal when a dull or uneven complexion is accompanied by shine and visible pores—a common issue in the central area of the face, where a cleanser that’s too rich can leave the skin feeling oily to the touch.
For daytime use, we recommend the Dépiwhite S SPF 50+ sunscreen from the same line: the gel cleanses and exfoliates the skin’s surface, while the SPF 50+ sunscreen protects it from UV rays throughout the day—two steps that complement each other without interfering with one another.
How do you use this lactic acid cleansing gel?
Directions for Use
Apply in the morning and/or evening to damp skin. Lather, rinse thoroughly, then pat dry.
Precautions
- For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. If contact with the eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
- This gel contains a fruit acid, lactic acid, which may increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the risk of sunburn: apply SPF 50+ sunscreen daily to cleansed areas, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure for the duration of use and the following week.
- Do not use on broken or irritated skin, on sunburned skin, or following a dermatological procedure (chemical peel, laser treatment, recent hair removal) without consulting the doctor who performed the procedure.
- Do not use this product on the same area on the same day as another exfoliating treatment (scrub, fruit acids, salicylic acid) or a retinoid on the same area on the same day without consulting a pharmacist or dermatologist: the resulting irritation may itself cause pigmented spots.
- Any asymmetrical spot with irregular edges, multiple colors, a diameter greater than 6 mm, or one that changes in size, shape, color, or thickness (ABCDE rule) should be examined by a dermatologist before undergoing any cosmetic treatment.
- Hormone-related spots, such as melasma or those that appear while taking oral contraceptives, tend to reappear with sun exposure; treatment options should be discussed with a doctor or dermatologist.
- Fragranced formula: If you have a known allergy to a fragrance or any other cosmetic ingredient, check the list of ingredients before first use.
- Discontinue use if redness, persistent tingling, or a rash occurs, and consult a pharmacist or doctor.
- Use within 9 months after opening. Keep out of reach of children.

Our Expert Advice on Dépiwhite Micro-Exfoliating Gel for the Complexion
An exfoliating cleanser cannot remove a dark spot on its own: it works on the skin’s surface, and the overall skincare routine determines the result. So the first thing to check isn’t the gel, but your morning sunscreen—applied every day, even on cloudy days. Without it, exfoliating more won’t make a difference.
To start, use it just once a day, in the evening, to assess your skin’s tolerance for one to two weeks before switching to morning and evening use. If your skin reddens or feels hot after rinsing, space out your treatments rather than pushing through: for skin prone to dark spots, the consistency of a well-tolerated routine matters more than the intensity.
FAQ
Can I use Dépiwhite Micro-Exfoliating Gel every day, instead of a scrub?
A granular scrub works by friction and is generally reserved for use once or twice a week. Dépiwhite Micro-Exfoliating Gel does not contain granules: its exfoliating action is based on lactic acid in a rinse-off cleansing formula. It is designed as part of your daily cleansing routine and replaces your usual cleansing gel without adding an extra step.
Can I apply a vitamin C or niacinamide serum after using Dépiwhite Micro-Exfoliating Gel?
The gel is rinsed off: it doesn’t remain on the skin like a serum, so a vitamin C or niacinamide serum can be applied next in your routine. For skin that is prone to tingling, introduce this combination gradually—for example, use the gel in the evening and the serum in the morning.
Can I use Dépiwhite Micro-Exfoliating Gel during pregnancy?
The formula of Dépiwhite Micro-Exfoliating Gel does not contain retinoids, the class of anti-dark spot active ingredients contraindicated during pregnancy; it combines niacinamide and lactic acid in a rinse-off cleansing base. The skin often becomes more sensitive during this time: if in doubt, consult the doctor or midwife overseeing your pregnancy for guidance.
