When should you use this Exomega serum for reactive skin?

A-Derma’s Exomega Ultra-Soothing Serum is a facial treatment designed for reactive skin with atopic tendencies in adults and teens. Its formula combines three active ingredients: Cutalgine, an extract of helichrysum (Helichrysum gymnocephalum), and Rhealba oat seedling extract, in a glycerin-based formula. It is used in addition to other facial serums as a soothing step for skin that reacts quickly.

Its main function lies in Cutalgine, which soothes feelings of discomfort and strengthens the skin. A warming sensation after cleansing, tightness in the cold, or a tingling sensation upon contact with a new product: these are the everyday signs of atopic-prone skin, whose barrier is easily compromised. The serum is applied by gently patting—without rubbing—to be gentle on the most sensitive areas.

Helichrysum extract reduces skin hyperreactivity, while Rhealba oats target three proteins involved in the skin’s structure. In a study conducted on 33 people using the product twice daily for 21 days, clinical scoring showed a 72% reduction in redness. The formula was designed to minimize the risk of allergic reactions.

The serum is ideal for when facial skin alternates between calm periods and periods of sensitivity: the onset of winter, dry air from heating, stress, or changes in climate. Its ultra-comfortable, milky texture spreads easily and can be applied under both moisturizer and makeup; non-comedogenic, it is also suitable for combination skin.

For skin prone to atopic conditions, cleansing is often the first source of discomfort each day. We recommend usingthe Exomega Soothing Facial Cleansing Gel from the same line before applying the serum; it gently cleanses without drying out the skin, so the skin is not irritated when it comes into contact with the serum—both steps work together to provide comfort.

Precautions

  • For external use only. For adults and teenagers only.
  • Avoid the immediate eye area. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Do not apply to broken, weeping skin, or to an active eczema flare-up: a flare-up requires medical attention.
  • Do not use if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients, particularly oats.
  • Discontinue use if redness, warmth, or itching occurs after application.
  • If skin discomfort persists despite treatment, sleep is disrupted by scratching, or patches are spreading: consult a doctor or dermatologist.
  • Close the bottle tightly after use, store it away from heat, and observe the shelf life after opening as indicated on the packaging. Keep out of reach of children.

Our expert advice on Exomega Ultra-Soothing Serum

For skin prone to atopic conditions, the results depend less on the serum itself than on the consistency of your entire skincare routine: a gentle cleanser, this serum, followed by a suitable emollient—every day, even when your skin is feeling fine. It’s during calm periods that you prepare for the next ones. Avoid piling on new products: introduce only one product at a time so you can easily identify which one isn’t suitable.

This serum supports reactive skin; it does not treat an eczema flare-up: this precaution is what distinguishes cosmetic care from medical treatment, making it the most important point on the list. If you’re unsure about the condition of your skin, show it to your pharmacist before applying the product.

FAQ

Can I use A-Derma Exomega serum with a moisturizer?

The Exomega serum is used in addition to a moisturizer: apply it first to a cleansed face, then apply the moisturizer or gel-cream from the line on top. It does not replace the daily emollient needed for skin prone to atopic conditions.

Does the A-Derma Exomega serum contain fragrance?

The Exomega serum formula is fragrance-free: no fragrances or fragrance allergens are listed in its ingredients. However, a slight odor characteristic of the raw materials—particularly the plant extracts—may be noticeable upon application.
