Composition of EPS Phytostandard Cassis

Blackcurrant extract - Ribes nigrum L. (Leaf), stabilized in glycerin of vegetable origin.

Grossulariaceae or Saxifragaceae family

Origin: Central and Eastern Europe - Northern Asia - North-East of France

Blackcurrant is a major plant in the doctor's therapeutic arsenal: it is of daily utility, easy to handle and perfectly harmless whatever the patient's age.
The fragility of its constituents, in particular with an anti-oxidant effect, requires an extraction process carried out in the absence of air and excluding heat and light as well as a double water and alcohol extraction. Only this extraction process allows the preservation in the finished product of the integrity and all of the active ingredients present in the original fresh plant and ensures their perfect bio-availability. It therefore guarantees the therapeutic efficacy of the plant.

Historical
Blackcurrant is both a modern and very ancient plant, the knowledge of which has medicinal properties passed down from generation to generation. In France, the medicinal virtues of blackcurrant were put forward as early as the 16th century in the work "La venerie" by Jacques du Fouilloux, which recognized its power to heal viper bites. It was then described in the 18th century as a remedy for all ills in "The admirable properties of blackcurrant", written by Abbot Bailly de Montaran. It was said to be "fortifying, tonic, aperitif, diuretic and suitable for removing stones".

A little history Dodoens is Flemish, Forestus is Dutch. They are therefore relatively northern authors, who fit…
