Solar capital is unique to everyone. This natural ability of the skin to protect and repair itself when exposed to UV rays has been studied at length by Vichy. Whatever its phototype, solar capital will thus be used over time and be impacted by our lifestyle, leaving the skin more or less vulnerable to damage caused by UV rays. Vichy has brought together all the factors likely to influence the natural resistance of the skin and the quality of sun protection under the name Exposome. Our behavior in the sun will thus condition the impact of the Exposome on our solar capital. In 2019, Vichy Laboratories are going further in their understanding of the Exposome and offering new formulas to protect the skin from its impacts.

Capital Soleil adapts its formulas to the habits and needs of its users. The textures, actives and formats of each product have therefore been designed to respond to their different behaviors in the sun. This is the case with Beach Protect technology, which has been developed to meet the specific needs of exposure on the beach, in order to better protect the skin from factors likely to reduce the effectiveness of sun protection.
Broad spectrum filtering systems for high protection
In order to preserve solar capital, Vichy has notably developed photostable formulas with high indices and effective anti-UVA protection, thanks to the precise combination of high performance filters. These include filters patented by L'Oréal: Mexoryl XL and Mexoryl SX, which protect the epidermis against UVB, UVA and long UVA rays.
An antioxidant effect under UV rays
When the skin is exposed to UVA rays, it is able to double the synthesis of catalase, an essential defense enzyme.

This collaborative approach is based on new methods for evaluating ingredients and quantifying the impact of formulas on aquatic ecosystems.
Mexoryl sx and mexoryl xl considered safe for the environment
The environmental impact of Capital Soleil's two filters has been extensively tested, even beyond regulatory requirements. Eco-toxicological evaluations show that even at concentrations much higher than the nominal traces found in seawater, they did not bleach coral reefs and did not inhibit the photosynthetic action of microalgae.
