What is Novalac AR+ Infant Formula for the First Stage of Life (Anti-Reflux) 800g used for?

Regurgitation is common in young babies and is usually not serious. It occurs because their digestive system is still immature. This is particularly true of the muscle that closes the opening between the esophagus and the stomach. Its role is to prevent stomach contents from flowing back into the esophagus, but it does not yet function properly. As a result, stomach contents frequently flow back toward the mouth, causing regurgitation.

This condition is called gastroesophageal reflux (GER). It is the leading cause of regurgitation and vomiting in infants. As the child grows, spends more time sitting up, and begins eating solid foods, the regurgitation will decrease and eventually disappear completely around his or her first birthday. Until then, to reduce the frequency of regurgitation, it’s important to make sure the child isn’t eating too much or too quickly. Take breaks during feedings to allow your baby to burp. This will help them release the air that distends their stomach and contributes to gastroesophageal reflux.

Novalac AR+ Stage 1 Anti-Regurgitation Infant Formula 800g is a dietary food specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of infants and young children experiencing severe regurgitation. It contains a complex of two natural thickeners (starch and carob) and pre-digested proteins, which help reduce persistent spitting up in babies. Novalac AR+ is not suitable for children with cow’s milk protein allergies.

How should you use this infant formula?

Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing a bottle. Use a bottle that has been properly cleaned and drained.

• Use mineral or spring water suitable for infants, or pure water that has been boiled for 5 minutes and then cooled to room temperature.
• Heat the required amount of water to a maximum of 40°C, then pour it into the bottle.
• Add the appropriate number of level, not heaped, scoops, using a ratio of 1 scoop per 30 ml of water (use only the scoop included in your Novalac box).
• Close the bottle with the flat cap and roll it vigorously between the palms of your hands to prevent lumps from forming.
• Gently shake it back and forth until the powder is completely dissolved.
• Check the temperature (<37°C) by pouring a few drops onto the inside of your forearm. Give this bottle to your child immediately.
