Solens natural recipes

Solens rigorously selects its ingredients and simplifies our recipes as much as possible to allow you to better understand what you are consuming.

For SOlens confectionery the following are preferred:

• Aromas of natural origin : these are aromas extracted directly from a plant source for example, such as a fruit or a plant.
• Dyes of natural origin . They are mostly extracted from a plant source such as carrot (orange dye) or spirulina algae (green dye).

Confiserie Solens has developed a range of sweets suitable for vegans, also a range of sweets guaranteed without sugar and without coloring.

Can you consume Solens sugars and candies when you have diabetes?

From a nutritional point of view, we mainly find in candies a large amount of carbohydrates (on average 90% of the weight of the candy). These carbohydrates are in the form of simple sugars (sugars or glucose syrup) which are assimilated quickly by the body and have an almost immediate effect on blood sugar.

Sweets, by their composition, cause an increase in blood sugar. They also provide a source of calories which participate in weight gain if consumption is regular.

However, by following a few tips, it is quite possible to occasionally and reasonably consume sweets with Solens candies :

• Tip 1: Consuming sweets at the end of a meal limits the hyperglycemic effect. The food of the meal will tend to reduce the hyperglycaemic effect.
• Tip 2: Carbohydrate intake should not exceed 10% of daily energy intake.
• Tip 3: Eating a meal rich in fiber before a birthday party helps limit the absorption of carbohydrates.
