Description and indications of Biafine tube of 186 grams
Erythema secondary to radiotherapy treatments.
Burns of the first and second degree and any other uninfected cutaneous wounds.
In case of erythema secondary to radiotherapy or second degree burns it is essential to consult your doctor.
How old are Biafine creams?
As indicated in the package leaflet, this cream can be used on children of all ages.
However, as part of Biafine's indication for the treatment of sunburn, we advise you not to expose babies and young children directly to the sun, this greatly reduces their solar capital.
In addition, do not expose yourself to the hottest hours, from 11 am to 3 pm and use sun protection (hat with wide rim, glasses, T-shirt ...) for babies and young children, regardless of their age.
Usage advice and dosage
In case of extensive burning or blistering:
Apply the Biafine cream in a thick layer until the skin refuses. Allow to penetrate through a gentle and prolonged soft massage. Renew 2 to 4 times a day.

The active substance is: Trolamine 0.670 g per 100 g of emulsion for dermal application.
The other ingredients are: ethylene glycol stearate, stearic acid, cetyl palmitate, solid paraffin, liquid paraffin, perhydrosqualene, propylene glycol, avocado oil, trolamin and sodium alginate, potassium sorbate, sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate 219), soda propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 217), yerbatone flavor, purified water.

It is used in the treatment of burns, uninfected superficial wounds and redness after radiotherapy .
Avoid using this emulsion for prolonged periods and over extended areas without the advice of your pharmacist or doctor.
Second degree burn: apply a thick layer; wait until the emulsion is absorbed by the skin and renew the applications as long as there is not an excess of emulsion. The last application can be covered with a wet compress.
Redness after radiotherapy: 2 or 3 applications per day.
Rarely: allergic skin reaction (contact dermatitis ), requiring discontinuation of treatment.
Skin disease manifested by pimples and itching. Eczema may be due to contact with an allergic substance (contact eczema) or be linked to a genetic predisposition (atopic eczema).
Use of radioactivity to treat certain diseases, in particular cancers.
Reaction due to hypersensitivity of the organism to a drug. Warnings and Precautions
In the event of burning with blistering or extensive burning, or in the case of a deep or extended wound, a medical consultation is essential before applying a medication to the lesion.
This medicine contains propylene glycol and may cause skin irritation.
This medicine contains potassium sorbate and may cause local skin reactions (eg, eczema).
This medicine contains sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate and soda propyl parahydroxybenzoate and may cause allergic reactions.
This medication is not a sunscreen.
This medication should not be used as a care cream on healthy skin.
Do not apply near eyes.

BIAFINE, emulsion for skin application with food and beverages
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or plan a pregnancy, ask your doctor for advice or your pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines
BIAFINE, emulsion for dermal application contains propylene glycol, potassium sorbate, sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 219) and soda propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 217).
· Erythema secondary to radiotherapeutic treatments: follow the recommendations of your doctor. In general, 2 to 3 daily applications, regularly spaced, making penetrate by a light massage.
· Second-degree burns and other skin sores: Consultation with your doctor is necessary (see Warnings and Precautions). After the wound has been cleaned, apply in a thick layer, spreading largely over the surface of the lesion and renewing the applications in order to always maintain an excess of emulsion on the lesion. Cover with a moistened compress if necessary and finish the dressing. Do not use dry absorbent dressings.
· First degree burns: In case of extensive burns, a consultation with your doctor is essential (see Warnings and Precautions). Apply in a thick layer until skin refuses. Have a light massage. Renew 2 to 4 times a day.
