Our professional advice and expert advice in natural health

A cough cleanses the lungs and rids them of secretions (mucus) contaminated with microbes. Your child may have a "fatty" cough: we hear the accumulation of secretions in his bronchi or a "dry" cough: irritative. Your child may vomit after a strong coughing fit.

Cough is often caused by a runny nose. This discharge builds up and irritates the back of the nose, it triggers coughing fits, especially when lying down during colds, sinusitis or angina. An infection of the trachea (tracheitis), bronchial tubes (bronchitis) or lungs (pneumonia) can cause severe coughing.

Additional advice:

Dry air increases irritation of the mucous membranes and causes coughing fits. If the humidity in the room is less than 45%, use a humidifier. Preferably choose it with cold air to avoid the risk of burns. There is no need to exceed 55% humidity.

  • Clear the nose:

Dry secretions clog your child's nose. Use physiological saline at will (salt water in the form of drops for the nose) to rinse the nose thoroughly. Then ask him to blow his nose. If your baby is too small to blow his nose, suck up his secretions using a baby fly.

In immune pathologies in adults, particularly respiratory infections; the clinical approach in herbal medicine retains all its interest, in particular the use of standardized extracts guaranteeing the contribution of totum , so as to provide as much hyposoluble fractions ( ex: polysaccharides of ginseng for immune stimulation, in particular to strengthen the action of vaccines in the elderly ) than liposoluble ( eg: alkylamides of echinacea in acquired immunity ), in order to restore the full…
