Our expert advice in pharmacy

Various clues testify that your pet is sick and may have cat herpes:

  • a strong nasal secretion
  • a strong ocular secretion.

These changes will be accompanied by:

  • sneezing attacks
  • chronic coughs.
  • a fever
  • a lack of appetite

The two main causative agents are feline herpesvirus (FHV) and feline calicivirus (FCV), both of which are widespread throughout the world. They affect not only cats but also other felids.
The viruses that cause cat's coryza spread very easily through the droplets projected into the air when the cat sneezes, as well as through the flow of the eyes and nose.
