Our advice and advice from pharmacy experts
The balance of the intestinal flora is essential for the proper functioning of the digestive function and for a good assimilation of essential nutrients (vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids).
A rich, balanced and well established intestinal flora acts favorably on the metabolism. By regulating the functioning of your intestinal flora, you will help your body to strengthen its natural defenses .
Probiotics act through 3 main mechanisms. The first is to modulate the activity of the intestinal immune system. Probiotics strengthen immunity when it is weak, for example during the development of the immune system in children, or its aging in the elderly. They also reduce overactivation of the immune system, especially in cases of allergies or inflammatory bowel disease . Secondly, probiotics increase the barrier function of the intestinal mucosa, for example by increasing the production of mucus or IgA type antibodies. Finally, probiotics have direct antimicrobial effects, taking the place of pathogenic bacteria (phenomenon of competition) and preventing their adhesion to the intestinal walls.
