Dr Theiss Plantain Cough Syrup 250ml

Coughing is a natural bodily mechanism used to purify the airways of inhaled impurities. It is usually due to irritation which can be located throughout the respiratory tract: the trachea, the bronchi.
In bronchitis, the cough is usually “dry” first and then becomes oily within a few days. But during a winter respiratory illness, the cough can be “mixed”: sometimes dry, sometimes oily, depending on the time. After such a viral episode, the cough continues for 3 to 8 weeks while the disease is cured, because the mucous membrane of the respiratory tree has been weakened: it is called "post-infectious" and "sub-acute".

Plantain syrup ( plantago lanceolata ) was born from the experience and herbalist knowledge of Dr. Theiss.

It has a soothing action on the throat and the respiratory tract .

This syrup can be taken by children from 3 years old and is an effective help for the whole family.

Our advice and expert opinions in pharmacy

A cough is often caused by a runny nose. This discharge accumulates and irritates the back of the nose, it triggers coughing fits especially when lying down during a cold, sinusitis or angina. An infection of the windpipe (tracheitis), bronchi (bronchitis) or lungs (pneumonia) can cause a heavy cough.

Additional advice:

  • Humidify the air:

Dry air increases irritation of the mucous membranes and causes coughing fits. If the humidity level in the room is less than 45%, use a humidifier. Choose it preferably in cold air to avoid the risk of burns. There is no need to exceed 55% humidity.
