Description of Fluvermal Flubendazole syrup for digestive tract worms

Fluvermal oral suspension is a medication indicated in children and adults for the treatment of infestations by certain parasitic worms of the digestive tract : pinworm, ascaris, tricocephalus, hookworm.

What are the symptoms caused by intestinal worms ?

  • Pinworms first cause anal itching, especially nocturnal when the female lays her eggs. But it can also be the cause of disturbed sleep, restlessness and fatigue. Sometimes, the worms can be seen on the stool and in the bottom of underwear.
  • Rare in France, roundworm is much more harmful because it causes coughing, abdominal pain and vomiting. It can also be the cause of diarrhea, irritability, fatigue and weight loss. We have even observed allergic reactions.

Dosage of Fluvermal Elubendazole 2% Oxyurose syrup

The dosage of the non-prescription drug Fluvermal Syrup is the same in children and adults. It depends on the infesting worm.

Pinworm : 1 measuring spoon in a single dose. The catch will be renewable 15 to 20 days later in order to completely eliminate any infestation.
Strict personal hygiene measures (cleaning the nails, etc.) and clothing must accompany the treatment to eliminate the risk of re-infestation. It is also important to take the correct dosage of this medication for effective treatment of pinworm infection. In addition, naturopathic doctors recommend the use of Weleda suppositories based on Allium Ursinum , a natural dewormer in prevention at each change of moon.

The wearing of soiled fingers in the mouth in children explains the possibilities of contamination by pinworm intestinal worms in the same family and self-infestation of the child by scratching the anus. The ingested pinworm eggs release larvae in the child's stomach, which migrate to the intestine to become adult parasites within a month.

Ascaris, tricocephalosis, hookworm infection : 1 measuring spoon morning and evening for 3 days.

The advice of your expert pharmacist on drug treatments against intestinal worms

How to treat children with syrup to get rid of pinworm worms?

  • Pinworms particularly affect children. They pass the eggs to each other. An infected child who has scratched their anus and then did not wash their hands can touch another child. The latter, by putting his fingers to his mouth, may contaminate himself with pinworm eggs. Contamination can also come through soiled food.
  • To get rid of pinworms, drug treatment should be taken, especially with Fluvermal syrup . It must be accompanied by washing sheets, pajamas and underwear, these objects may contain eggs.
  • It is essential to treat the whole family of an infected person and to renew the intake of drugs two to three weeks after the first intake, in order to be sure to have eliminated all the worms (the swallowed eggs, which hatch in the gut, can survive for several days in the open).
