Description Nurofen 5 Percent Gel Tube 50g

Nurofen Gel 50g 5 percent gel tube is a medicine containing an inti-inflammatory drug. It is indicated for short-term local treatment of mild injuries: sprains (strains), bruises.

For adults only (over 15 years)

Composition:

 

Nurofen 5 percent gel 50g tube contains:

 

  • Ibuprofen gel 5g per 100g
  • Hydroxymethylcellulose, sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, purified water

Dosage:

  • Apply the gel with a gentle massage on the painful and prolonged inflammatory or region. Wash hands after use. 1 application 3 times a day.

Against indication:

  • Pregnancy and breast feeding
  • History of allergy or asthma triggered by taking ibuprofen, other nonsteroidal antinflammatoire or aspirin
  • Damaged skin
  • Allergy to any component

This gel contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug ( NSAID ). It locally fights against inflammation and pain.
It is used in the treatment of short sprains and bruises.

This medication should not be used in the following cases:

This medication can be used to relieve a sprain on the advice of your pharmacist. Nevertheless, a medical opinion is preferable in case of violent pain, major Œdema or limb or joint mobility is limited.
In case of skin eruption , do not repeat the applications before taking the advice of your doctor.
PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING (summary)
Pregnancy :
NSAIDs taken orally may be toxic to the fetus; their use is contraindicated during the last 4 months of pregnancy. NSAIDs for local application may pass through the skin, pass through the blood and expose the fetus to the same risk when applied over a large area of ​​skin or under an occlusive dressing. Do not use this medication during pregnancy without medical advice.

Pharmacotherapeutic group

This medicine contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID): ibuprofen.

Therapeutic indications

In adults (over 15 years of age), short-term local treatment of benign trauma is indicated: sprains (strains), bruises.

2. BEFORE YOU USE NUROFEN 5%, freezing?

List of information needed before taking the medication

If there is a history of kidney problems, ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST, this medication may aggravate pre-existing renal insufficiency.

Cons-indications

Never use NUROFEN 5%, gel in the following cases:

· From the 25th week of gestation (early 6 th month of pregnancy)

· A history of allergy or asthma triggered by the use of ibuprofen, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin,

· A history of allergy to any of the excipients,

· Injured skin, regardless of lesion: oozing lesions, eczema, infected lesion, burn or wound.

Precautions for use; special warnings

Take special care with NUROFEN 5%, gel:

· Do not apply to mucous membranes, eyes,

· The appearance of a rash after application of the gel requires immediate cessation of treatment.

· Wash hands thoroughly after each use.

· In case of frequent use by a healthcare professional gloves are recommended.

· Do not use under occlusive dressing.

Pregnancy

During the first trimester of pregnancy (12 weeks of amenorrhoea, 12 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period), your doctor may prescribe this medication if necessary.

For 2.5 to 5 months of pregnancy (12 to 24 weeks of amenorrhea), this medication will only be used on the advice of your doctor and in brief dosage. Prolonged use of this medication is strongly discouraged.

You should NOT take this medication if you have had more than 5 months of pregnancy (beyond 24 weeks of amenorrhea), as its effects on your child can have serious consequences, especially on the cardiopulmonary and renal plane, even with a single plug.

If you have taken this medication while you are pregnant for more than 5 months, talk to your obstetrician gynecologist so that appropriate monitoring is available.

· Never apply a dose higher than recommended ( see Dosage ),

· Exceptionally, allergic reactions may occur:

o skin,

o respiratory asthma attacks, respiratory discomfort,

o general: sudden swelling of the face and neck (angioedema).

In all these cases, you should stop treatment immediately and notify your doctor.

· May also occur:

o local skin effects such as redness, itching,

o other general effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, depending on the amount of gel applied, the surface area treated and its condition, duration of treatment and whether or not a closed dressing is used.

5. HOW TO STORE NUROFEN 5%, gel?
