Remove the Thermacell Mosquito Repellent from its packaging. Make sure the switch is in the "off" position. Slide the active product plate under the protective heating grid.
Detach the cap from the device. Remove the butane canister from its packaging.
Remove the small protective cap from the butane canister and screw it firmly under the unit. Turn the cartridge clockwise until it stops. Make sure the cartridge is fully inserted. One cartridge lasts about 12 hours. Replace the device cap.
Turn the on / off plug to the "on" position. Butane gas begins to flow.
Wait approximately 5-10 seconds, then press the launch button three to five times quickly.
At the end of use, turn the "on-off" button to the "off" position and wait for the appliance to cool completely before putting it away.
