The superficial wound
By superficial wound, we mean a simple abrasion of the skin, a scrape, a slight cut or a scratch. It will be superficial when it has not been caused by a blunt object and it is not very large: the surface affected will be less than the size of the palm of an adult hand. You can easily control the blood and treat the injury. Never forget, however, that even a superficial wound can give rise to infection.

Description of MERCRYL SPRAY EXTERNAL SOLUTION 50ML

Chemincreau Mercryl is an Antiseptic medication in the form of a local solution for skin application   in Spray Bottle . Its formula is perfectly suited to disinfect small superficial wounds (scratches, scrapes, small cuts, punctures ...) for the whole family. The advantages of Mercryl Antiseptic Spray :

  • Active on bacteria and on fungi such as Candida albicans.
  • Possible use in young children. However, there is a risk of the active ingredient passing into the general circulation if it is used on premature or infant skin.
  • Colorless: does not stain the skin or clothing.
  • Don't sting.
  • Practical and handy spray bottle, ideal for travel.

The effectiveness of Mercryl Antiseptic Spray is based on the combination of active principles that act in complementarity: Chlorhexidine Digluconate and benzalkonium chloride.

Using advice and opinion on MERCRYL SPRAY EXTERNAL SOLUTION 50ML

Mercryl Antiseptic Spray is used 1 or 2 times a day, for 7 to 10 days. The application should last at least one minute to let the medication work.

  • Clean the area beforehand by delicately removing small gravel, dust ... if necessary. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Do not swallow. External use.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding : Ask the advice of your doctor or pharmacist.

This medication has contraindications, side effects and requires precautions for use. Read the instructions carefully before use.

Pressurized container: protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding + 50 ° C. Do not pierce or burn even after use.

Composition of MERCRYL SPRAY EXTERNAL SOLUTION 50ML

Benzalkonium chloride 0.500 g As a solution of benzalkonium chloride 0.985 g, Chlorhexidine digluconate 0.200 g As a solution of chlorhexidine digluconate 1.065 g, Per 100 ml. The other ingredients are Citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, purified water. Pulsating gas: nitrogen.

Cons-indications

Never use MERCRYLSPRAY, solution for pressurized skin application in the following cases:

· If you are allergic to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of this medication mentioned in section 6.

· If you are allergic to another antiseptic of the same family as this medication.

· In the eyes or ears.

· To disinfect medical and surgical equipment.

Warnings and Precautions

This medicinal product is for external use only.

When used on a large area, under occlusive dressing (impermeable to water and air), on a deeply burned skin, a skin of premature or infant, there are risks of passage in the general circulation .

Use with caution in newborns, especially premature infants. MERCRYL SPRAY, may cause skin burns.

Interaction with other medicines

· MERCRYL SPRAY should not be used together with other antiseptics because together they may irritate your skin or be less effective.

· If using soap, rinse thoroughly before applying MERCRYL SPRAY.

Description of adverse reactions

Like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Possibility of contact dermatitis (redness and itching) due to the presence of chloride debenzalkonium.

Chemical burns in newborns (unknown frequency).

CONTRAINDICATIONS (summary)
This medication should not be used in the following cases:
  • allergy to quaternary ammoniums ,
  • in the eye or in the ear canal (risk of toxicity in case of perforation of the eardrum),
  • for the disinfection of medical and surgical equipment (see Caution).
WARNING (Contents)
Avoid prolonged use of this medication, especially in children, on extensive or deeply injured surfaces, without the advice of your doctor: risk of drug passage through the blood.
This antiseptic is not suitable for the disinfection of scissors, razors and other potentially contaminating objects. Similarly, it should not be used to disinfect the skin before a sting.
DRUG INTERACTIONS (summary)
Combination with other antiseptics or soaps is not recommended because their effects may cancel out.
PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING (summary)
The timely use of this medication during pregnancy or lactation does not seem to pose any particular problem.

Breastfeeding:
This antiseptic should not be applied to the nipple without medical advice. Careful rinsing before feeding is essential.

This solution is sprayed directly onto the area to be treated and should not be rinsed.

Usual dosage:

1 to 2 sprays per day.

This medicinal product may be freely available in certain pharmacies; nevertheless, do not hesitate to ask your pharmacist for advice.
Simple washing with soap and water makes it possible to eliminate the majority of germs ; it should be followed by a careful rinse because the soap can inactivate some antiseptics .
All antiseptics may be contaminated with germs: do not store them unnecessarily.
