Description of ASCOFER Iron 33MG 30 capsules

Ascofer Iron 33 mg 30 capsules is indicated in the treatment of anemia due to lack of iron in adults, children from 6 years, preventive treatment of iron deficiency in pregnant women.

Advice for use and dosage

Reserved for adults and children over 6 years old.

Curative treatment :

  • Adults and children from 30 kg (approximately 10 years) on average 3 to 6 capsules per day.
  • Children from 20 to 30 kg (about 6 to 10 years) on average 3 to 4 capsules a day
  • Preventive treatment: in pregnant women, 1 to 2 capsules per day during the last two trimesters of pregnancy (or from the 4th month).

Composition

The active substance is : Ferrous ascorbate 245 mg (corresponding amount of iron 33 mg) for one capsule.

The other ingredients are : magnesium stearate, gelatin, red iron oxide and black iron oxide (E172)

Precaution of use

Do not take ASCOFER 33 mg hard capsules in the following cases:

  • Iron overload, especially in certain forms of anemia (thalassemia, refractory anemia, anemia by bone marrow failure).
