GAVISCON leaflet 24 sugar-free dose sachets Heartburn

Gaviscon sachets-dose provides rapid relief from pain and discomfort caused by heartburn or heartburn and acid reflux or referrals.
This medication is intended to relieve your stomach upset.

Intended for adults and children over 12 years old, Gaviscon belongs to the family of local action antacids and is used during pregnancy, after meals or to relieve esophagitis.
It treats the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux such as heartburn , acid reflux (heartburn) and difficult digestion (linked to reflux).
In contact with acidic gastric liquid, the suspension of Gaviscon Suspension Drinkable has 3 properties:

  • its lightness allows it to float above the gastric contents at the level of the gastroesophageal junction.
  • its viscosity and its consistency form a physical barrier which opposes reflux (reduction in the number of reflux). In severe reflux, the suspension regurgitates first in the esophagus and is interposed between the esophageal wall and the irritating gastric fluid.
  • its alkaline PH replaces the acid PH of the reflux liquid. The gastric PH-metry shows that the administration of Gaviscon increases the PH by 2 units in the cardia but does not modify the PH in the rest of the stomach.

If the symptoms persist despite the use of Gavison at a high dosage, we recommend the drug Nexium Control esomeprazole 20 mg (inexium without prescription) in cure of one to two weeks.

Gaviscon dosage , instructions for use and advice for use

1 sachet Gaviscon 3 times a day after the main meals and possibly in the evening at bedtime. This dosage can be doubled in case of severe reflux or esophageal inflammation.

If you are taking other medicines, they should be taken at a distance from Gaviscon (2h)

GLOSSARY Â (summary)

antacids
Medication that neutralizes the acidity of gastric sacs or blocks the glands responsible for acid secretion.

antibiotics
A substance capable of blocking the multiplication of certain bacteria or killing them. The spectrum of an antibiotic is the set of bacteria on which this product is usually active. Unlike bacteria, viruses are not susceptible to antibiotics. The first antibiotics were extracted from mushroom cultures: penicillium (penicillin), streptomyces (streptomycin). They are currently manufactured by chemical synthesis. Antibiotics are divided into families: penicillins, cephalosporins, macrolides, tetracyclines (cyclines), sulphonamides, aminoglycosides, lincosanides, phenicolates, polymyxins, quinolones, imidazoles, etc.
Inappropriate use of antibiotics can lead to the development of resistance: use antibiotics only on medical prescription, respect its dosage and duration, do not give or advise another person antibiotic that you have been prescribed.

renal insufficiency
Inability of the kidneys to eliminate waste or medicinal substances. An advanced renal insufficiency does not necessarily result in a decrease in the amount of urine excreted. Only a blood test and the dosage of creatinine may reveal this disease.

dosage
Quantity and distribution of the dose of a medication according to the age, weight and general state of the patient.

gastro-esophageal reflux disease
Upstream of the gastric juice in the esophagus and in the back, favored by the lying position after the meals, by leaning forward, by the port of clothing that compress the abdomen. This reflux is sometimes due to a hiatal hernia.

salt
Chemical substance of which the most known is sodium chloride, or table salt. Diet salt does not contain sodium; this is usually replaced by potassium.

sodium
A mineral substance which may form salts, especially with chlorine (sodium chloride, or table salt).
