INDICATIONS (summary)
This medicine contains activated charcoal and papaverine. Coal absorbs the gases present in the digestive tract. Papaverine calms the spasms of the intestine.
It is used in the symptomatic treatment of disorders of the intestinal transit , especially with bloating.
WARNING (Contents)
Do not use this medication for long periods of time without the advice of your doctor: tests may be necessary if symptoms persist.
If you must drive or use a hazardous machine, make sure that this medication does not alter your vigilance.
DRUG INTERACTIONS (summary)
This drug may decrease the absorption of other drugs, especially those that contain digitoxin or digoxin ( digitalis ). A delay of at least 2 hours must be observed between taking this medication and that of other treatments. Ask your doctor or pharmacist.
PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING (summary)
The effect of this medication during pregnancy or lactation is not well known. The assessment of the possible risk associated with its use is individual: ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE (summary)
The tablets should be swallowed as they are with a little water before meals.

Usual dosage:

  • Adult: 1 or 2 tablets, 3 times a day.
TIPS (summary)
A diet rich in fiber, if it facilitates transit, can also increase intestinal fermentations and promote bloating. Seek advice from your doctor to balance your diet.
In case of diarrhea, the treatment consists of compensating the loss of water by abundant drinks to avoid dehydration. Medical advice may be needed if diarrhea is severe or long-lasting.

This medication is indicated in adults in the treatment of difficult digestions especially with intestinal bloating.

Do not take ACTICARBINE, coated tablet if:

Precautions for use; special warnings

Take special care with ACTICARBINE, coated tablet :

Precautions for use

· In case of bloating, flatulence, avoid dry vegetables (lentils, flageolets, peas ...), some green vegetables (cabbage, Brussels sprouts, chard ...).

· In case of associated diarrhea, it is necessary to:

o rehydrate with abundant, salty or sweetened beverages to compensate for fluid losses due to diarrhea (the adult's average daily water intake is 2 liters)

o feeding the time of diarrhea,

§ excluding certain intakes and especially raw vegetables, fruits, green vegetables, spicy dishes, as well as frozen foods or drinks.

§ favoring grilled meats, rice.
