Description of Akildia Diabetic Foot Cream
The term diabetic foot refers to a complication of diabetes consisting of a series of injuries to the foot caused by the degeneration of the cardiovascular system and the nervous system, injuries that can compromise the functionality of the lower limbs.
Akildia Diabetic Feet Protective Cream fights against the appearance of hyperkeratosis which causes a thickening of the stratum corneum and can trigger an inflammatory and localized reaction, creating an imbalance that generates cracks and crevices that can worsen later. The skin is protected, hydrated and restored and micro-circulation is promoted.

The effects of diabetes on the feet
According to the Canadian Diabetes Association, more than 9% of Canadians have diabetes and more than 22% are pre-diabetic, affecting more than 9 million Canadians! Diabetes is an insidious disease that is the source of a multitude of complications, many of which affect the feet.
Indeed, diabetes has an impact on their nerves, their blood supply (vascularization) and the immune system. Damage to these systems increases the risk of ulceration and amputation. In fact, 15 to 25% of diabetics will have a foot ulcer and 85% of amputations are due to a foot ulcer according to a study by the Canadian Association of Wound Care.
Fortunately, the consequences of diabetes on the feet can be limited by various preventive means, including good blood sugar control and regular follow-up with the podiatrist, because 50% of amputations could be avoided by preventive foot care.
