  • Digestive problems
  • Renal colic

Antispasmodic and digestive effects

Dill essential oil is renowned for its antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles, particularly those of the digestive system. The carvone present in Dill acts on acetylcholine and histamine receptors, reducing intestinal spasms and promoting smoother digestion. In addition, α-phellandrene helps increase basal tone and contractions of intestinal smooth muscle, making it an effective remedy for bloating, meteorism and colopathy.

Detoxifying and hepatoprotective

Dill essential oil benefits liver health through its detoxifying and hepatoprotective action. Carvone stimulates liver detoxification enzymes, while limonene and carvone promote bile secretion, helping to eliminate toxins from the body. In addition, Dill is recognized for its fluidifying effect in hepatobiliary and pancreatic insufficiencies, helping to improve digestion and reduce associated symptoms.

Respiratory and anti-fungal effects

Dill essential oil also has beneficial properties for the respiratory system. The α-phellandrene and limonene act as bronchial fluidizers and mucolytics, helping to clear the airways and relieve symptoms of coughing and congestion. In addition, its antifungal action helps fight respiratory infections caused by fungi, contributing to better respiratory health.

Cortison-like and anti-inflammatory effect

Dill has a cortison-like effect, stimulating the pituitary-adrenal axis and helping to regulate the body's inflammatory responses. This anti-inflammatory action makes it an interesting option for relieving inflammation-related pain and discomfort, particularly in chronic inflammatory conditions.

Complementary activities

In addition to its main properties, Dill essential oil has other health benefits. It is antimicrobial, antidepressant and lipid-lowering, promoting general health and mental well-being. It also acts as a general tonic and stimulant, helping to revitalize body and mind.
