Provides stability to the ankle by minimizing rotations. This splint includes 2 polypropylene outer shells connected by a heel strap and bilateral pads.

The FUSIOLIGHT ankle orthosis is recommended for chronic instability or mild sprain (stage I) to moderate sprain (stage 2) of the right or left ankle.

The degree of severity of a sprained ankle depends on the nature and extent of lesions in the foot joint. In the mildest cases, the external ligaments have undergone a simple stretching. If there is no edema, if the pain is mild and ephemeral and there is no functional discomfort, then it can be considered a simple sprain . The situation is more serious if the ligaments tear, break and other nearby structures are affected (tearing of the joint capsule or damage to the bony parts of the ankle, foot or leg).

How to treat a sprained ankle?

The general principle for obtaining ankle ligament healing is to remove any tension on the ankle. No tension is observed in support when walking, nor for movements of flexion extension of the ankle, so we can afford to prescribe the patient a removable ankle brace . This is placed in the shoe, allows walking in full support, and neutralizes the movements of laterality . It can be removed at night and in a sitting position. The classic elastic strapping bandage has the same function, but is less convenient to use.

The other elements of the treatment are not specific and obey the general traumatology: icing, elevation of the limb, compression anti-edema, anti-inflammatory after the 3rd day, analgesics ...
