Chlorumagène SERP POWDER 100G

CHLORUMAGENE SERP POWDER 100G

The causes of constipation are multiple and most often not serious. And, fortunately, simple lifestyle measures are often very effective in dealing with this very feminine condition.
Some constipation is caused by a slowdown in the progression of food along the colon (large intestine). In others, there are difficulties in evacuating stool from the rectum (terminal part of the colon) and anus ("terminal constipation").

Description of CHLORUMAGENE SERP POWDER 100G

A drug recommended in the symptomatic treatment of constipation . It exerts an osmotic effect , the intensity of which brings it closer to the class of stimulants . It modifies the intestinal hydro-electrolytic exchanges and stimulates colonic motility. Delay of action: 6 to 8 hours.

Magnesium hydroxide is used as a laxative to treat constipation . Constipation is the term used to describe the condition where the bowel movements that are passed are hard and less frequent than normal. Constipation can be caused by poor diet, not drinking enough water and not having a bowel movement as soon as necessary. Pregnancy, lack of exercise or movement (such as being sick in bed) and certain medications, including pain relievers, can also cause constipation. Magnesium hydroxide is an osmotic laxative which means that it works by drawing water from the intestine , which softens the stool , making it easier to pass.

Directions for use of CHLORUMAGENE SERP POWDER 100G

Adult : 1 teaspoon in the evening at bedtime or in the morning on an empty stomach.
Take diluted in a glass of water.
Treatment should be short-lived (8-10 days maximum).

Composition of CHLORUMAGENE SERP POWDER 100G

  • The drug treatment of constipation is only an adjunct to the dietetic treatment: enrichment of the diet with vegetable fibers and drinks; advice on physical activity and exemption rehabilitation.
  • In children, the prescription of stimulant laxatives must be exceptional; it must take into account the risk of hampering the normal functioning of the exemption reflex.
  • Associations requiring precautions for use: digitalis; other hypokalaemic agents (amphotericin B (IV route), corticosteroids (general route), tetracosactide, diuretic hypokalaemic agents (alone or in combination).

GLOSSARY (summary)

corticosteroids
Substance close to cortisone. The natural corticoids, necessary for the functioning of the organism, are made by the adrenal glands. Synthetic corticosteroids, chemical derivatives of cortisone, are used as powerful anti-inflammatory drugs.

addiction
Psychic or physical need caused by taking certain natural or medicinal substances. This condition may be accompanied, at cessation of the catch, by various symptoms, grouped under the term of withdrawal syndrome.

Diarrhea
The strict medical sense of diarrhea is "emission of stools too frequent and too abundant". In fact, common sense equates diarrhea with the notion of fluid and frequent stools. Normally, stools are pasty, but the emission of liquid or barely formed stools, without pain or particular associated disorder, is not pathological. Diarrhea can occur when liquid stool emissions are repeated during the day and the needs are overwhelming or painful.
Many medicines can accelerate intestinal transit and make the stools more liquid, without this undesirable effect being of real concern.
Antibiotics can alter the digestive flora, essential for digestion, and cause more or less troublesome but benign diarrhea. The effect appears immediately or after a few days of treatment. A severe and exceptional form of diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis, can be observed after antibiotic treatment; this condition results in the emission of mucus and false membranes (resembling skin flaps) associated with abdominal pain; constipation may replace the initial diarrhea. Pseudomembranous colitis can occur several days after discontinuation of antibiotic treatment and requires urgent medical advice.

diuretics
Medication allowing increased kidney water removal. Most often, this loss of water follows the loss of salts caused by the drug (salidiuretic).
Diuretics are mainly used in the treatment of high blood pressure, while their mechanism of action in this disease is poorly understood. They are also prescribed in acute or chronic heart failure, edema and other rarer ailments.
These drugs cause loss of sodium and potassium (except for some of them called "potassium-sparing"). Their prolonged administration therefore requires regular blood potassium control, to avoid heart problems that may result from hypokalemia (lack of potassium in the blood). Lack of sodium is another possible but less frequent consequence of the prolonged use of diuretics; it is also detected by a blood test.

fecal impaction
Stool plug in the rectum or in the colon. It is to be feared in the elderly or constipated, or those who remain bedridden for a long time. It exposes to a risk of obstruction of the digestive tract.

renal failure
Inability of the kidneys to eliminate waste or medicinal substances. Advanced renal insufficiency does not necessarily result in a decrease in the amount of urine excreted. Only a blood test and creatinine dosage may reveal this disease.

stimulating laxative
A powerful but irritating laxative for the digestive tract, responsible for a loss of mineral salts (potassium, etc.) by the body. Its prolonged use causes an addiction: it is no longer possible to go to the saddle without medication. In the long term, definitive lesions of the internal wall of the intestine may appear (laxative disease).

potassium
Mineral element present in large quantities in the body.
See also: kalaemia.

torsades de pointes
Severe heart rhythm disorder, favored by:
  • hypokalaemia or situations favoring it: significant and prolonged diarrhea, repeated use of stimulant laxative, etc.,
  • a heart too slow,
  • a visible predisposition on the electrocardiogram,
  • taking certain medications.
Drugs that can cause torsades de pointes include quinidine, hydroquinidine, disopyramide, amiodarone, sotalol, ibutilide, certain neuroleptics, cisapride, diphenemil, halofantrine, mizolastine, pentamidine, moxifloxacin and erythromycin.

symptomatic treatment
Treatment that suppresses or alleviates the symptoms of a disease without addressing its cause.

heart rhythm disorders
Severe or benign anomaly of the frequency of contractions of the heart. Extrasystole is contraction occurring just before or after a normal contraction, often perceived as a slight shock in the chest. Fibrillation is an irregular and disorderly contraction. Other disorders include torsades de pointes, Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome, Bouveret's disease, tachysystolia, flutter and atrioventricular block, etc.

way
  • Pathway (route of administration) used to administer drugs: oral, sublingual, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, intradermal, transdermal.
  • Set of hollow organs allowing the passage of air (airways), food (digestive tract), urine (urinary tract), bile (bile ducts), etc.
