What is Cytolnat Centella cream used for?

Cytolnat Centella is a soothing, repairing skin care product for aggressed and damaged skin.

Centella asiatica has been used for over 3,000 years in traditional Chinese, Malaysian and Indian medicine as a healing agent, as well as for the treatment of skin diseases. In Europe, Centella asiatica began to interest researchers in the 19th century. In 1852, Boileau, a French doctor in Mauritius, and Hunter in 1855 in the hospitals of Madras, used it to treat leprosy.

Centella asiatica was also used as a healing agent in the treatment of varicose ulcers, burns and bedsores. The first dry extraction was only produced in 1941, 3 years before P. Boiteau isolated its active principles. Advances in chemistry have made it possible to produce titrated extracts (TECA) of centella asiatica containing 60% asiatic and madecassic acid and 40% asiaticoside, which are used in topical preparations at concentrations of between 0.1 and 1%.

Composition of Centella Cytolnat cream

Its "oil-in-water emulsion" galenic formulation helps restore the skin's hydrolipidic film, a natural protective barrier.

It contains :

• a film-forming agent, squalane, which isolates the wound from the outside world.
• moisturizing and emollient agents that help create a moist micro-climate in the wound, promoting scab-free healing.
• two surfactants, one ionic (triethanolamine stearate) and the other non-ionic (glyceryl stearate), which deters and drains the wound, enhancing healing.

Thanks to its extract of Centella asiatica (Hydrocotyle), a plant native to East Africa and India, Cytolnat Centella has a protective role against free radicals by increasing cellular antioxidants, and also enhances the reparative healing process by stimulating collagen biosynthesis and fibroblastogenesis.
